Don't go to church, don't go to concerts, don't go to clubs, stay out of the bike lane...?

Saddened...wondering what the motive was, I didn't see a link between that church and the shooter.. unless I missed it.

His mother-in-law’s P.O. Box was listed as a mailing address in Sutherland Springs, that's about it.

Mixed reports varying from the shooter being a proselytizing atheist on facebook to being teachers aide in sunday schools. Given the gun control desires of the left its no wonder his facebook account was already deleted.

The Los Angeles Times reported that in recent months Kelley had started adding strangers from the Sutherland Springs area as Facebook friends and picking fights with them.

Link?

It would sure be nice to have an unbiased article with all the facts published. Its too bad today’s definition of “free press” doesn’t mean that anymore with all the positioning from the left and the right.

From the la times...

http://www.latimes.com/nation/nation...105-story.html

“....A Facebook profile under the gunman's name featured a photo of an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle. In recent months, Kelley was adding strangers as friends on Facebook from "within 20 minutes" of the Sutherland Springs area and starting Facebook fights with them, according to area resident Johnathan Castillo.

Castillo accepted Kelley's friend request a couple of months ago, thinking that maybe he or his friends had met Kelley but hadn't remembered him. But Kelley soon proved to be troublesome.

“A lot of people were deleting him” for “starting drama” on Facebook, including sending insulting Facebook messages, Castillo said.

“It’s like he went looking for it, you know what I mean?” Castillo said. “You can tell people who are defending their opinions versus someone who’s looking to start something.”

Castillo said he was angry with the gunman, noting the picture of the rifle on Kelley’s Facebook page, “making the rest of us who actually hunt look bad.”

A typo-riddled LinkedIn profile under Kelley's name featured Kelley in a photo with a baby and said that he was a “management consulting professional” from the San Antonio area who was in the Air Force. “I am a hard working dedicated person,” the profile said. “I live by the core values on which the Air Force go by.”

The profile said Kelley taught “children ages 4-6 at vocational [vacation] bible schools helping their minds grow and prosper” at the Kingsville First Baptist Church.

His interests on LinkedIn included “Animal Welfare,” “Children,” “Civil Rights and Social Action” and “Human Rights.”....”

Sad thinking about all those people going to church to pray/worship and some maniac comes in and does that. Prayers to all those families.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...d-atheism.html

“...Former classmates say Devin Patrick Kelley, 26, who stormed First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs in Texas and opened fire on Sunday, was 'creepy', 'crazy' and 'weird'.

Patrick Boyce, who attended New Braunfels High School with the killer, told DailyMail.com: 'He had a kid or two, fairly normal, but kinda quiet and lately seemed depressed.

'He was the first atheist I met. He went Air Force after high school, got discharged but I don't know why...”

Good luck with that... I was on my way to dallas when I first heard bc listening to NPR. It was terrible reporting and I really like NPR but they weren't staffed to report on such on incident. The reported on the ground was quite green and the person in DC was a sunday host that doesn't usually cover such items and had trouble staying objective. Then again, when something like this happens, I bet it is tough to not bring in your views...

That being said, Breitbart and the like are doing the exact same kind of reporting. Actually, in their update thread it was quite worse than NPR's bias.

A very sad day. A day that requires us to take an objective look at the problem, not make this another issue the pundits will talk about and then forget about.

When I arrived to my friends place yesterday (avid gun owner/enthusiast) the first thing he said was that he was it was time to change.

IDK what the solution is but I do know that what we've been doing is not working.

Maybe one underlying problem is instant communication. Mass killings have always happened, even before the invention of semi automatic weapons. Instantly spreading all the bad things that people do, just makes things worse.
In the sick minds of these people, they see others commit these atrocities. They think, "Ya know, I've been kicking around the idea of slaughtering people for a while now. Maybe it's time I get serious".

I'm not gonna say the media glorifies these incidents but they talk about them incessantly for days, driven by the need to sell commercials they hype these stories and pound on them until the next one happens.

I'm just saying, maybe if they glossed over them a bit, the copy catters might be a little less inspired.

I've wished for years that the media would not use the perpetrators name when reporting these crimes...no more instant fame or notoriety for these feral animals.
