Thoughts and recommendations for a mile eater.

So Iím thinking of selling the ZX10 and picking up a 2020 Africa Twin adventure sports SE or a used BMW 1200 GSA.

Wanting to get something to start taking so great trips on instead of trailing to go places.

Iím keeping the Duc for my spirited rides and may pick up another Super Sport in the future.

Wanting something that I can sit in the saddle for hours and hours at a time and do some Colorado/ New Mexico trips.

Thoughts, suggestions, and other recommendations are highly welcomed!

Man, I used to do a lot of long distance riding before I discovered track days, best bike I have rode for more than 4 or 5 hour without stopping is an Honda ST1300. Smooth, big fuel tanks, big storage, great power, power wind screen and heated grips. Put a Sergeant world seat on it and you are good to go.
Longest ride, 1060 miles in 19.5 hours.
Quickest ride, 410 miles in 6.5 hours.
Standing 1/4 mile, 13 seconds around 115 MPH.
Whatever you end up on make sure to haul down Pikes Peak.

The R1200GS Adventure is the way to go! Plenty of aftermarket parts with all the creature comforts of a high-end cruiser.

When I was younger and taking long trips a couple times a year, I'd routinely make a 700 mile day in 12 hours to Birmingham, AL. I was riding a 2006 650 V-Strom at the time and it was pretty comfortable. You can do trips on just about anything, but the Africa Twin or the Beemer are both top choices. Depends on your budget and stamina. My touring bike now is a Honda NC700X. I don't typically do 700 mile days anymore, but it's more capable than I am.

Never mind. I didn't realize this is a thread that has been revived from the dead. Carry on.
