when i get my CHL and carry to work, i only have the bike so i may have to bring a bag, i wonder how often i'd get stopped riding down 45 with a gun on my hip lol.

i wouldn't ordinarily carry to work but i work for a dealership and occasionally stay late doing photos and lock up the gate by myself, which i hate doing in stafford

One time a guy on 45s and 610 a guy pulled a gun on me for no reason, or to my knowledge no reason. I started laughing thinking he was just a white gangsta douche and he pointed it out the window at the sky and let off a couple rounds. I slammed on my brakes and quit laughing.

yeah, $376 isn't chump change. That's almost as messed up as the initial problem.

close to $400 to get your car, that sucks.

Just think if you had a really cheap POC car, it wouldn't even be worth the money to get it back.

Had that happen in college. A guy gave me a non-running mustang as in free. I left it parked out front of my fraternity house, and went home the last week before school started. Apparently university wanted to "clean up the campus" for the new students. By the time I figured out where the car was stored........................they wanted $800 to get it out. Oh, and I had to have it TOWED home on top of the storage fees. Yea, the storage lot got themselves a mustang.

Daaaaamn, I was carjacked May 19, 2002 at Westheimer and 610. Them fkrs had a nice shiny 9mm pointed at my forehead, and pressed to the base of my skull after they made me get on the ground.

Those fgts are still in jail.

I got lucky. There was a different guy that worked at the same chop shop that was caught driving a stolen car. Found out that a car that matched the description of mine(black Integra GSR) came in about a week prior, and two guys matched the description I gave HPD. My uncle called me in for a video line-up and I ID'ed both. They rounded them up, and both plead guilty to quite a few charges.

I know this is an old thread, but something jumped out at me.... You can own a handgun at 18, you just cannot purchase one from a licensed dealer, it can be gifted to you or purchased from an individual, you must be 21 to purchase ammo in handgun calibers, but the law does state an age limit to posess handgun ammo, therefore the Motorist Protection Act of 2007 does apply to an individual between the ages of 18 and 21....

Which law says you cannot possess handgun ammo if you're younger than 21? I don't believe such a Texas penal code statute exists, but I'm happy to be corrected on that.

I agree that you cannot currently purchase a handgun from a dealer until you're 21, nor can you get a Texas CHL 'till 21 (unless you're in the military).

FWIW, NRA filed both federal & state lawsuits in Lubbock over the 21 year old age restriction on the purchase of handguns. The filing was only a month or two ago, so don't hold your breath on that issue being resolved in the courts for a year or to at least.
