Credit cards...

These tiny plastic buggers are evil... I need to cut mine up.

How many do you have? My ONE is getting me in trouble.

i have about 5 or 6, that I actually use from time to time, but only about 3 ever carry a balance.

Home Depot and Lowe's get paid off every month, we don't keep much on them.

I'm in the process of paying off the amount we owe to Zales for the engagement ring. And also trying to pay off Capital one, which I ran up years ago :/: Stupid ex ran up an $1100+ apartment bill when he attempted to slit his wrists in our apartment :/: :/: so I paid that off with that card, to get it out of collections. That fkr still owes me that money. Plus I put some other on it too car parts and such...

I only have 2 large balances on those 2 cards, the rest are either 0 or < $500

I have one CC and a few "store cards" for when I have bought my wife jewelry over the years...my one CC is @ the halfway mark and about to be paid off but not cut up...I'm still gonna keep it open, use it, and pay it off before those bastids get me for interest

I've heard mixed input about cancelling credit cards.

My mortgage lady said don't cancel them because it could potentially be looked at as negative.

A friend of mine's mortgage lender said cancel them because it is perceived as "possible debt"

What are you supposed to do then if you wanna get rid of the account? Destroy the card once you have a zero balance? I don't know if I'd really be comfortable putting a credit card account with a pretty sizable limit in the back of my mind just in case someone ever tried to steal my identity, it would be weeks/months before I realized there was a balance on the account.
