This mess for a $70 cd player? thieves.

Came home from work and realized wife wasn't home....suspicious of her whereabouts (and the fact that I needed beer for the fridge) I called to check in on her and ask her when she'll be home....she was about to check out at the store....perfect! beer on the way and 30 minutes of guitar playing before she gets home...

Heard a vehicle pull up, but garage didn't go up....I get up, look out the window and see a truck at the end of my drive. Ran to room, got armed and headed out the front door and truck sped off...looked in the drive and there sat my poor truck...shittiest part of it all....just installed the POS cd player last weekend and haven't even used it. thieves. Almost caught 'em read handed.

How good of an install? Wiring harness soldered up and snap in place...literally took me 10 minutes to install once the wiring harness was soldered and heat shrinked. Didn't think a cd player valued at $70 new from Walmart was a hot commodity.

They were probably in/out in 30 seconds or less....enough time for me to hear a car, realize it wasn't my wife, looked out window, grabbed gun from BR and walked out the front door to see them pulling off.

yep....Friday night, literally was in the driveway with garage door up for maybe an hour....while I was at it I changed out the registration stickers for two of my vehicles while I was out there. normal weeknight one should be able to do at home.

yep....next one will get a small chain attached from back of head unit to fire wall....it may cost them 10 extra seconds next time and that's all I would have needed.

No you should be able to open your garage door any time of the day and not worry about someone jacking your . Courtney gets on to me all the time because I like the door up when in piddling around.

Sounds like they were drivin by when you were working on your truck.

Sorry you had to be their next theft victim.

Too bad they didn't want to stick around for the fireworks Hopefully this doesn't happen again, but if it does they shouldn't make it out of the driveway I would say keep your gun a bit closer while you're home (somewhere safe and out of reach if you have kids). Once the sun goes down, I keep my gun holstered until bedtime as I have experienced 2 close-calls of people trying to break-in. I don't step outside holstered as I don't have my CHL yet, but my application and prints are done and I'm doing my proficiency this Saturday
