Mercedes 112 V6 motor, bullet proof unless you put mineral based oil in it and don't change it for 40K miles.... I have clients with 500K on their motors that the heads have never been off, this one made it to 150K....

:(

This one looks like the timing chain slipped and the pistons hit the valves

Nope. Spun rods. Oil filter looks like a gay pride parade with all the metal.... Valve cover looked like a jello mold....

No design flaw here, just straight up lack of maintanance. She admited it though and wrote the check for $5K to get started....

Yeah my 2001 was the first year 1k motor and it starved the #1 rod of oil. I was on top of maintenance. I beat the out of it. Ask anyone that ever rode with me. I had somewhere around 35-40k miles on it when it went south.

Mazda b2200 aka ford pinto motors with Mazda heads also had a similar issue of starving the front pistons rods of oil.

What's wrong with that engine?

Oh, I see. It needs a head gasket.

Have seen more... of it is you have to pull the engine apart to get it to roll over so you can unbolt the torque converters...

Had a C55 motor that slung a rod and almost cut the block in half.... that one was impressive....
