Help me choose a new helmet.
I'm in the market for a new full face (not modular) helmet, $300 tops. Since I have a cyclegear a minute from the shop I looked online and they have the AGV K-3, Sedici Strada II and the Bell Qualifier. They also have a couple of icon models but maybe is just me, they look flashy but are they good quality?

Just wanted to leave this here, I got it from another user's post. It changed my thoughts on helmets quite a bit.

^^ That’s a long read, what would you say you got from that?
@ org poster I’d offer the vids on sportbiketrackgear in their buying guide and have a look at the price bucket you looking for. https://www.sportbiketrackgear.com/2...-buyers-guide/ |

always been a fan of scorpion, but there on the heavier side
most recently I have been wearing AVG and LS1, both good quality and lighter then the scorpion. I agree with checking out the vids that sportbiketrackgear puts out then go check them out |

Snell mostly sucks compared to other certs, DOT is interestingly a better value than expected. In the opinion of scientists looking at real-world crash data and predicting that you won't get gigantic hits more than once in a year across the world. That's paraphrased, obviously.

I also find it interesting that on the same site, they completely trash DOT and only recommend Snell. https://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Helmets.html#Helmets
Obviously take everything with a grain of salt. |

I tried reading through it, felt it was a bit dated and had a hard time finding a published date.
Instead of writing up stuff myself here is a generalized writeup from revzilla https://www.revzilla.com/common-trea...ty-ratings-101 Billys crash helmets is a nice place to get none spammy/filler or whatever the kind of reviews you get from amazon, or other etailers that have people giving inaccurate ratings due to a bad shopping experience rather than the actual product itself. https://billyscrashhelmets.com/about...crash-helmets/ Id personally go for the Bell Qualifier, Ive heard alot of good things about those helmets and I personally like the fit (Im closer to a round head fit). Be sure to give Shark and HJC a try as well, ever since the rpha 10 I've been a fan, ended up purchasing a Rpha 70 as well. and this is probably personal bias but ICON airflite (a branch of bell, seems like they go more for styling) has been a regrettable purchase; loved the look and I thought the fit was good at first but its mediocre at best and the helmet whistles and squeaks due to design, theyre also massive but a pretty good bang for your buck helmet |

Yeah that first link was way off and reached ridiculous conclusions as mentioned by Celo.
Back on the helmets the last couple I’ve had have been scorpions. Got an eye on this one when (if) prices come down on them a little. https://www.sportbiketrackgear.com/s...1-air-helmets/ |

I have the AGV k-3 and the strada II. Coming from a Shoei xr1200 the last time we rode, I can tell you the AGV is more oval of a shape than the shoei. When i tried it on at the store, the model was broken in enough that I didn't notice it. When i got my new one delivered to the house, i realized that I would need to wear something so that my ears wouldn't get pulled every time i removed the helmet. That being said it is very light, and it has good air flow. I also have the Strada II. I feel that it is slightly heavier, but not by much. I spent 2 days in the sun with with this helmet at my MSF course. The airflow was good, and I felt it was a bit louder than the AGV, but that was without earbuds. I have zero experience with Bell. |
