yes, I will ride the Anthills have posted before but can never get anyone to go with. the trails there seem like they may be fun. most places seem to be opposed to jumps and anything technical. I would like to go to austin to just ride. should be fun but there seems to be so much there to ride I wouldn't know where to or what to bring. I will switch between my bmx bike for the trails and the 26in dirt jumper.

I don't ride the anthills. Maybe 20 years ago but not these days.
I ride(when I had an MTB a few years back anyway) the MTB trails leading up to it that run along he paved trail and yes they are very fun. There's three levels of difficulty as well and they all run parallel.

I might know an MHer who knows a thing or two about austin trails

I've got a folding MTB I'd like to put through its paces, more so than just a ride to and from school on the pavement. :/ Not much land out here to ride on 'legally'.

Anthills are fun, but take a while to dry out after a rain.

Cypress Wood (by Bike Barn) is well maintained but flat.

Cypress Creek (just west of Lowe's on 249) has lots of elevation and is well maintained.

I second the trip to Austin... Walnut Creek and Emma Long are a blast!

I like both the cypress trails, smooth and fast. Terry, ant hills and memorial arent bad, would probably like them more if there werent sections that weren't so rooty. I'm interested in checking out the sugarland trails, anyone been out there?

unless they have added on to sugarland its pretty boring, about a 1.5 mile loop with a few ttfs that get old after about 3 laps lol. Jack brooks is fun but rooty and if it rains it takes a while to dry up. Memorial is fun, but its always busy and lots of walkers. Ive never been on either of the cypress trails, and havnt been out to the anthills and forever. All the trails up north are pretty featureless, but you can haul through them. Never been to austin either, but have seen the videos on you tube lol

they have been working to the sugarland trails, been following them on their FB page

We took our mtb's a couple yrs ago when we went to motogp, was a good ride but there were a lot of huge rocks in certain sections
