[QUOTE=zpooch;4147794]Good luck man! I've ridden in baja, you'll love it down there. I didn't look to see where the 500 course is this year but I hope you like some big trophy truck sized whoops!

Ironically, I hate whoops and don't get along too well with sand LMAO

Thanks for the photo and I'll manage pretty well..

I'm sure you know this but, the 500 is a bit more of a sprint than the 1000 but don't race like you're out there for a 20 min moto. Pace yourself to finish, not catch 1x. Most important thing is get the bike, intact, to the next rider. Good luck, you're going to have a blast!

A few days have passed since my last post, and with that comes, well, a few more changes.

First and foremost, we remained in the Sportsman Moto class, our injured person is healing good and we hope to have him racing next week.

I along with one other team member (Owner of the race bike) met with the Patria Energy CEO and 2 others today, it was a great meeting in my opinion, this is what I do for a living (having and conducting meetings) so it was an awesome feeling walking out at the end of the 2 hours there today.

These guys are doing there damned best to make sure we're taken care of on all fronts. They're supplying us with a ton of stuff, nothing that isn't useful, team shirts and team jerseys, which BTW are super sick, they've gathered us what appears to be a thousand stickers, key chains, sweet flashlights that project the company logo as an image, the kids in Mexico are going to love these for sure. We were loaded with 15 cases of Patria Energy drink which taste pretty dang good, do yourself a favor and try one out if you find one in your local convenient store. The gave us a 15x15 Patria Energy logo canopy for the race pits also, thing is sick.

They've purchased all riders a new Shoei VFX_Evo helmet and new A* Tech 7/10 boots for the race, on top of our Fly Fly Racing gear, we're sure the be the best looking team on bikes. Our graphics are final and shipped out today, they will be arriving Wednesday, just in time to add them to the trailer, we head out early Thursday am.

I received more details today from Score International, man they send a ton of information, it's a lot of reading, I hate reading but, this being what it is, I love reading it all. There are very strict and precise rules to follow in order to enter Mexico, they want an inventory list of items in each vehicle, all vehicles with trailers must be X-Ray(ed), those with out trailers do not need to have the same thing. Lots of paperwork involved to cross into the dark side of our moon. I have to get on my inventory list, clear my truck of all un-ncecessary items and repack full of motorcycle .

There is still so much to do and the stress is starting to really set in about now.

I still have to do a laundry list of things, including change a couple of tires, with new Nitro Mousse inserts, I have our new race day gear (provided by Fly Racing) washed, folded and organized into bags for each individual rider. Luckily for me, I'm a small, everyone else is a size Holy Moly or bigger, there shouldn't be any arguments over what belongs to Ellis! Hey, if they can fit into my gear and helmet, I'll let them have it but, I'm taking plenty of pics of these guys looking like fat girls in skinny jeans.

Anyway guys, thanks again for following and as always, keep your eyes and ears open for the next post.

Ok so, it's been one of a long day, it's D day and we leave home in 7 hours from now.

Our gear was finished printing today, we got everything we ordered through Cycle Shack North picked up today, a very big thanks to Tim at the counter, without him, I don't know what I would have done, he was very patient and tended to our every need and request, I left some choices up to him since I couldn't be in the store to see colors, etc, he did a fantastic job of getting us geared up. Please go see these guys whether you need dirt or street gear.

First of all, I spent a couple hours at Patria Energys office helping to sort out logos, placements, shirt sizes and even helped out when they lost power today. I enjoyed my bit of time spent there today, it's always a pleasure to work with those who are eager to make you happy. At 5 pm this afternoon, I was notified that our Fly gear was ready for pick up (pics to come soon) so I hightailed it down beautiful 290 in rush hour and spent another hour helping get everything else sorted out, we have 2 large stacks of shirts to hand out in Mexico, they must be printed first, the only 2 employees there after hours taking care of us are hooked up like you wouldn't believe, I applaud their strong effort, and willingness to be as helpful and full of joy as they are to help us out.

Also, I had to cross the city, literally from 290 and BW8 to Russel and Smith Ford in who the knows where the this shithole place is somewhere near NRG stadium. From there, I drove to Cycle Shack North on the South side of Conroe, took care of that business and then off to Plantersville, North or the Ren Fest location, from there, straight to Pinehurst to pick up some gear for one of our drivers/back up riders and then, on my way home I had to re-route back to Patria to pick up our gear.

Now that all of that is done, I get a bad phone call, one of our 3 trucks is now down!! Alternator(Ford) bearings are locked the fk up, alternator is glowing and the truck luckily made it to its home. So now, we're down to only taking 2 trucks, 9 people or some stuffed into two vehicles is going to be fun, I hope everyone shaves cus i don't want to feel their face stubble on my .

With that said, my Thursday was going to start around 6 am by hitting the road and meeting up with the other 2 trucks in the Columbus area, now, I have to drive my fat to Rosenberg and pick up some 's, latch on to a trailer and be back on the road, now, my Thursday took a 2 hour dump since I need to be there by 5:30, i'll have to leave home by 4:30, sure was looking forward to that extra sleep.

We’re on the road, so again, another day, another issue LOL! I get up at 3 to load and drive to our 5:30 am meeting spot to consolidate all the loads and hit the road. What would an adventure be without its simple issues, thinking I’d be the last one to arrive, I ended up being the first to arrive, the last truck showed up around 8.

Anyway, headed west to El Paso and then stop for the night.

We had a long hard day of driving but more than half way to San Diego, we stopped for dinner in Las Cruces, NM at a "mexican restaurant" not much Mexican about it though. I did get a bit of a view of Juarez, Mexico while passing by it, talk about the hood! JEEZ, I feel for the citizens in general there, two different worlds exist merely yards apart. Housing looks like a giant bag of skittles spilt across the land.

Attached are a few pics, I broke out the real camera and snapped a few, not many but it's a start for now.

We made it to the Beach house today, South of Ensenada. Very awesome place, water is about 50 yards from the back door, all we can hear is the wind and water.

Anyway, we had another good days travel, made it across the border into Mexico with no issues, I was surprised at how little they checked us out.

We've spent time preparing to ride tomorrow, getting sponsor stickers applied to our helmets, sorting out all of our gear, shirts, stickers, etc. Half of the crew drove 1 hour to Wal Mart to grab some food and other items we needed while the other half sorted everything at the house.

I've had such a good time so far, If in the morning we have to load up and head back home, it's been worth the trip for me. Plenty of laughs, the scenery is nice but at the same time. The beach side of the coast is awesome and beautiful but, on the other side of the highway, it's a mess, what a real shame that humans have to live that way.

I presume you didn't load up and head back home yet. Today was day #1 of this race, in for some updates! BTW, I don't see Potts listed as a rider in the segments spreadsheet. Is he not pulling a leg or 2 in this race? Figured he might be your fastest rider. Hope everyone stayed safe and kept the bike in 1 piece!

The race starts Saturday at 3:30 local (Mexican) time so 5:30 your time, our bike, #237X should be taking off at around 4 am.

Guys, I could literally write a book about the last 6 days of my laugh, I've literally laughed so hard that I have cried multiple times, I should have a great looking 6 pack set of abs by the time I get back to Houston..

This journey, truly is one for the books, it's a lifetime experience, I've learned so much this week and never in my wildest of dreams would have thought that this race could entail so much activity.

I'm in San Diego to pick up a driver/backup rider and then back to Ensenada at 4 am, Contingency day is tomorrow (Thursday) we will arrive at the Mission by 11 am to gather up, if you have the score international app, you can live stream it, one of our team mates plans to propose to his girlfriend so, we HOPE to for sure make it on the live broadcast, secretly, he proposed Monday night on the beach at sunset but, we thought it would be a great idea to re-enact the occasion on national televised circuit, wish us luck that it makes it on El Rey Network and the Score International live feed.
