Instructor Simon Ho will be holding this event at Wolfsmiths at 10 am. Sat. 1/23 till 12. The below post is the message he sent me.

Track day 101

If you ever thought of taking your motorcycle onto a track or would like to learn more about what happens at a typical track day, then please come to our event Jan 23, 2021 @Wolfsmith’s in the Heights. (636 West 26th St
Houston, TX. 77008).

If you recently purchased a motorcycle and want to learn more about it, or if you’re wanting to improve your riding skills and plan to or am considering to attend a track day this year, we will be covering:

* What is needed
* How to prepare your motorcycle
* The pros and cons about the different tracks around Houston/Texas
* What to expect when you show up on your first day
* Some of the most important things to remember
* How to physically prepare yourself in advance

Feel free to come and just learn about track events and meet some fellow riders.

I love this idea!

There is a monthly meeting that a local MC holds here in California. It is open to the public and they meet at a centralized restaurant to discuss safety, riding experiences, and new laws that could effect motorcyclists.

I will attend when I get back to Houston... That is, if y'all make this a reoccurring thing.

Sweet! Something happening on the weekend I actually have off! It should be fun to get out for once.

Now, the real question is, as this is Houston, how likely is the ole bike to be stolen, and how much kickback is the organizer getting?

Wolfsmiths is a bike-centric cafe with a workshop in the back. They've got a bit of parking on their patio, and more space right outside of that. Risk of theft ought to be slim to none.

Obviously the cafe will enjoy extra business, but I strongly doubt Simon is aiming to profit from it. He's one of the nicest guys/coaches in the paddock and goes out of his way to help newer riders.

Hoping to attend and highly encourage anyone interested in track riding to do so. First track day of the season is coming up quick — Feb 6th at MSRH with RideSmart!

Didn't know you were still holding these events! The one I went to back in 2019 was super helpful.

Hey, Tai! Wow, it has been that long already. Dang. Glad to know it was helpful to you. I hope you've been doing some great riding since then.

Yes, I'm still holding the meetings monthly, virtually since shortly after the pandemic started. January's meeting is coming up next Wednesday.
