well....thats bullshit. I pay twice as much as the next guy, and he gets to decide, as much as me, where the metro train runs?

So can I take the the number of hours I work for free for the city in a year and multiply that by my average hourly wage at my day job and consider that as tax dollars contributed? I mean, I am giving it to the government...

Maybe then my vote will matter.

That is a great idea. They should do that. You can trade hours, for money.

Oh but wait...if we didn't have city volunteers, we would have to pay everyone...then your taxes would be even higher. would you matter even more than?

sure I would. cuz then Id pay even MORE taxes.

but hey, dont most peeps volunteer in an effort to get on with the dept? so that wouldn't truly be volunteering your services since it is for personal gain.

I know some that volunteer so they can get the cool lights on thier personal truck.

Or they get all the scoop on the scanners and .
