Dropping off pistons, wrist pins, etc... tomorrow so they can finish balancing the flywheels and sticking it all back together. Gonna drop my heads off too and see if I can get them cleaned up a little bit. After that I'll put the motor back together, and hopefully run a new harness when funds allow. Getting closer.

This project is far from dead, but has been stalled for a while. Good news is that the motor is almost finished.

Does anyone have any recommendations for stripping old powdercoat off of cast aluminum wheels? I was thinking naval jelly but not sure.

Soda blasting. You can buy the media form McMaster Carr.
It won't erode/weaken the aluminum.
Make sure to wear a mask.

I'd stay far away from that aluminum with phosphoric acid (naval jelly).

Used naval jelly in the past to remove blueing from firerams.
