** This is NOT my yellow gixxer, this is a different bike! Same model though

Classic 1st gen GSXR. It does still need a little work, I'm selling because I don't have the time to continue working on it and need money to pay rent. I have the title and am the 3rd owner.

I've confirmed that the engine runs without smoking and shifts through the gears smoothly. The bike does not leak, the tank isn't rusted, the wheels are straight and the tires are good. Chain and sprockets are new, new rear shock, forks are good, brakes are good, all electronics work, every chassis bearing was cleaned and re-greased with waterproof grease. Has full aftermarket exhaust and a fresh oil change.

Here's what it needs:

- proper carbs for a 750cc. It's currently got 1100 carbs on it and no amount of tuning will get them to run right
- rear signal lights and signal/flasher relay
- right side panel
- tank needs new paint
- left side rearset

This bike has great potential and I wish I could continue to fix it up. But my loss is your gain for a cheap retro classic. These bikes are becoming much more difficult to come across in half-decent shape. Feel free to contact me via text or phone call for any questions regarding the bike. Thanks for looking

It's definitely got potential, but I've got bills to pay and will be heading back out of town soon. Wish I could continue fixing it up

I'll be back either Sunday or Monday, will continue working on the bike swapping jets on the carbs, seeing what will work to get it running good. Might make some custom rear sets if I find the material and the time to do so, price will go up

I had an 89 1100 with a 750 motor, could never get it to run right, I wonder if it had the wrong carbs on it? GLWS!

Made the conclusion that this bike will never run correctly with the carburetors it has right now. It’ll start up and run on choke but that’s it. Lowered price to $1800

Probably, many people slapped 1100 carbs on a 750 thinking they would get a performance boost when it did the exact opposite, just like in this case. that or because they look the exact same, and on slingshot models both are 36mm, just like on the 1st-gens both 750 and 1100 carb banks were 34mm

also, thanks! and thread bump

BUMP, I'll be back in town next weekend, if anyone is interested in a 1st-gen GSXR in decently good condition, let me know! as long as this thread is still open I still have the bike
