I had always believed the myth that rubber tires protected you from lightning. Think my dad told me that when I was 10or so. Never really thought about it afterwards. It’s funny how we can accept what we are told as truth for decades sometime before recognizing it to be wrong.

A metal car body protects the occupants from lighting, not the tires.
