Racing and Data Analysis - BTT video is up!

We started this meeting chatting with young racer Garrett and his dad/coach Earl to hear about the highlights of Garrett's 1st racing season.

Then we spent the remaining time of the meeting talking about data analysis...

Every race team has a data guy, guaranteed. Do you think making race decisions based on data might be helpful? There are phone apps, action cameras with GPS, and there are true GPS lap timers to get you the same advantages. But what is usually missing is instructions on using the software they provide.

This month, letís take one of the most difficult to use packages and show short video how-to clips, so you can do some basic things.

1. Letís export your GPS data to google earth so you can see your racing line overlaid on a satellite photo of the track.
2. Let's find out how to save your session data in a form you can email to your friends and enemies.
3. Now letís look at their data and your data together and see what we can learn.

For this demo, weíll use the AIMís Race Studio Analysis software. It is difficult to use and has no manual. Let's do a little bit here to correct that!
