I think ima build me a track bike.....

it'll be a 600 class.....unless....nah, it'll be a 600.

That said, no Honda's....that company is on my list for reason I ain't getting into.

So that leaves

R6
ZX6
worse case, GSXR.

I have an insider at an insurance auction....can you say cheap?

That said, toss out some recommendations.

Year, etc. and why?
I like to hear all the pros and cons.

I am leaning towards an R6 with the ZX6 as a second.

No Euro trash as I said CHEAP.

Euro trash??? bikes have no character. I might have an SV if you're interested if a guy doesn't buy it tomorrow, but it sounds like your set on a 600.

Don't waste your money...go buy this and be done...tomorrow.

Even if you buy a crashed bike cheap, you will spend more on parts for your project than this bike in total as a proven turnkey solution.

that bike sounds like a good way to go... you CAN NOT build a bike for that amount.... , i have more than that in my TMGP bike...it is ALWAYS cheaper to buy a built bike than to build one...the only reason to build a bike is because you want to.

2010 too fiddy

another coming soon....

i would go with Redford's R6, parts for the newer zx6 are harder and expensive to get. Plus even if you bought a nice r6 for $1000 or $1500, this are the things you would want to upgrade and a rough estimate of the prices
body work- $300-$500
paint body work - $250-$400
track rubber- $300 unless you bought take offs,
steering dampener- $300
clip ons - $150
exhaust -$200-$600
sprocket kit - $150-$250
suspension- $1000-$2000 depending on what you go with

so on the cheap side you are looking at $3650, and that if you got the bike for 1k and all the parts i listed on the low side.
on the high side of the prices i gave you , you are looking at $6000

in other words, John, buy John's r6, and go play next weekend.

For a starter bike on the track thats a good deal.

Personally 06+ r6 is the wah to go they hwve way better motors and comes with a slipp3r clutch and ecu flashed makes thise bikes fly

The r6 chasis imo is the best for track bc the geometry and enormous amount of race parts for them.

If you want to build a bike, get a crashed 06+ R6 (08 would be best) or an 09+ ZX6R. Just make sure that the frame is straight.

There are more used parts available for the R6, such as suspension, bodywork, etc. Hit the CMRA or the WERA forum to get used parts.

Good luck in your build

+1 with irak. 08 and 09 have the best motor for the r6 but if your on a budget the o6 is still good. I sold my 09 r6 race bike fully built with everything known to man for 6800. I easily had $11000 in receipts for parta n labor alone. Just keep in mind much easier and cheaper to buy it already done
