I'm On Lockdown Again
Two more prisoners decided to escape in town this morning. My roommated just called and told me, I got up woke my roommates and loaded the guns just as our landlord came and knocked on the door. He dropped a piece of paper that reads like this:
PRISONERS HAVE ESCAPED FROM THE WYNN UNIT IN TOWN WE MUST KEEP OUR DOOR CLOSED AND LOCKED FOR OUR SAFETY!! The prisoners have robbed a bank and killed a guard! ~Keith |

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — A Texas prison guard was killed Monday after two inmates overpowered her, took her weapons then ran her over in a stolen pickup truck, prison officials said Monday.
One inmate was apprehended within an hour of the escape, and a manhunt was under way in Huntsville for the second, who was in prison for two counts of attempted capital murder. The prisoners were working outside the Wynne Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice just north of Huntsville, department spokesman Jason Clark said. "They ran over the officer," Clark said. "We can confirm she did die." The name of the officer was not immediately available. Prisoners Jerry Martin and John Ray Falk were working in a field at the prison along Interstate 45 when they overpowered the officer about 10:30 a.m., Clark said. They took her weapons and stole a Huntsville city truck that was nearby, he said. Falk was been caught, but Martin, 37, remained at large. Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials say the vehicle was been abandoned and recovered about a mile or two south in Huntsville along Interstate 45. Martin was serving 50 years since 1997 for two counts of attempted capital murder out of Collin County, near Dallas. |

Holy Smokes!

Why lock things down? Just sit on the porch with your firearms and keep an eye out. Seems like this would be a good reason to not escape, if the whole town is going to be working on their moving target practice.

Mass email:
Local law enforcement is currently pursuing two escaped inmates from TDCJ. Road blocks are currently set-up on the west side of I-45 near Wal-Mart, the Ella Smither overpass, and the surrounding wooded areas. There is no evidence to substantiate that the escapees are near campus. However, we request that you proceed with caution, and avoid the areas where the manhunt is being conducted. Chief Dennis A. Culak Director University Police Department |

Since both of them are in jail for murder charges, I don't think they will blink an eye to kill again just to have a taste of freedom. I think it is a good thing they caught them both. Both of these guys should get the death sentence.

Can't ride now...

Yea, I read that they were caught earlier in the day. Looks like they will be serving a lot longer than expected. Wonder if they thought it was really worth it.
