I know this thread is about my track journey, but I wouldn't have made it this far in such a short time without John's (GABRIEL) help
![]() Here's some pictures I caught of him on his CRF450R! |

Lets go fishing!

It's been a minute since I posted AND so much has happened since!
Where to begin.... In September of 2021, I crashed on Solracer's Grom. That bike crashed good, with little damage... but it me up pretty good though. I messed up my ribs pretty good, destroyed my new helmet, and had a bit of a limp for a few days. The wreck happened at Speedsportz on the small rental track in the morning. I had a back up helmet and managed to ride my 250 the rest of the day. I couldn't really get my head down, but I still managed to have a great day. GoPro footage off my 250: https://youtu.be/fteT6-3WdK0 GoPro footage of me from my buddy Michael: https://youtu.be/gGGfYiRnXl8 Btw, I also fixed up Chris's Grom because that's what friends do ![]() |

It took like 3 months to heal before I could get back on the track... maybe I shouldn't have rode the rest of the day after high-siding the out of the Grom... BUT I really wanted to get the most out of my day
![]() Well I returned to Speedsportz on New Years Eve and did a few sessions. It was nice to get out and ride again. This was just seat time and building my confidence back up. GoPro footage from my bike: https://youtu.be/4dJbyM-Xoq8 John (GABRIEL) was killing it on his KTM RC390... this is the GoPro footage from his bike (Some parts are slower because he was giving me a tow): https://youtu.be/8fx5EG481lg |

I got a new job at the beginning of 2022 and we also moved to La Porte back in April, so things were to congested to go riding. During this period gap I spent time maintaining my bikes and getting my together.

Looking good out there!
I'm impressed with the sound quality in your videos. When I was doing track days, I had a 1st gen gopro and the sound on the bike was horrible! Just a garble of wind noise and faint sounds of the bike. I think I mentioned I've moved to north central Arkansas. At the end of my street is a sign that says, "Steep and winding road next 20 miles". I tried to film a little with my cell phone but again the wind noise is terrible. I need a camera with a remote mic that I can put out of the wind but where it will still get the sound of the bike. |

MH has been up and down with the site, so I haven't had the chance to update y'all on my progress.
I had a long transitioning period with the new job and worked my off until May of 2022. During my "off-season" time I sent the bike to P1 to get the suspension refreshed. In June of 2022, I jumped back onto the bike and refamiliarized myself with the new suspension at Speedsportz. Not gonna lie, I didn't spend too much time on "slightly" getting back into it ![]() On the onboard video, I ended up loosing my rear in turn 3 (@ minute mark 11:17), before the double apex of 4 & 5. This particular turn is common for lowsides. https://youtu.be/HecrloxpA9o |

After my little ride at Speedsportz, I gained enough confidence in myself again to sign up for a track day event. I have always wanted to attended a RideSmart TD, so I went ahead and signed up for August of 2022 @ MSRH. Although I've attended a 3:16 TD and had many experiences at SpeedSportz, I still signed up as Novice to get the full experience and not miss out on any important beginners classroom lessons.
Boy-oh-boy it was a GREAT time!! I ended up sharing my bike with a good friend of mine because he lost some important parts on his SV650 (front brake pads were missing ![]() The day started out cold and rainy. Very limited grip and I also didn't feel right on my bike because the rear suspension was super hard still going round the carousal (bike still dancing under me quite a bit). But towards the afternoon I started getting comfortable and was adapting to the bikes new characteristics. All-in-all, super informative and lots of lessons learned... especially in the braking department. Good news though, I got the green light to go to Intermediate group ![]() GoPro footage from my bike (My mic decided to go crazy on me, so sorry for the messed up audio): https://youtu.be/D89ZkrGcPA0 GoPro footage from Gen - Ride Smart Instructor (I enter her video @ minute mark 06:56 ![]() https://youtu.be/P1vVSl8gMaw |
