My fuel connectors attached to the fuel pump mounting plate.

As I mentioned on my previous post:

The fuel connectors linking each of the feed and return fuel hoses to the fuel pump mounting plate got fractured and a little amount of gasoline start leaking. The gasoline got in top of the water pump cover and the cover start leaking water on the top side. (I guess the fuel damage the gasket).That's the way I found the gasoline leak..!!!!

Anyway..I was planning to take it to the stealership to perform the replacement of the fuel fittings fix under the recall issued by TRIUMPH (Recall ID #: 47391) but today in the afternoon after some beers and in a little drunk state I removed the rear body to take a better look to the fittings. I started touching them to be sure they were all the way in and suddenly the gasoline leak got bigger..!!! Start freaking out and got a hose and container and syphoned all the gasoline from the fuel tank (it was full and got some in my mouth..!!! still burping with gasoline odor). Once I was able to control the leak I star to inspection the fuel fittings more carefully and found that they are already the metallic ones..!! Check out in the picture

Not sure if this ones are what TRIUMPH dealerships are supposed to replace..?? I'm thinking that maybe the previous owner replaced them on his own because according to the TRIUMPH website my VIN has pending recalls.

Anyway I went ahead and remove the fuel tank and this is the way they look:







Female fittings in the tank:






I left some gasoline in the tank and turn it down on the side of the fittings but no gasoline is leaking.

I'm thinking that maybe one of the o-rings became bad. Also thinking about replacing the female plastic ones with the metallic type. They are available on e-bay and the TRIUMPH recall only replace the male fittings at the hose.

I believe the fittings you are refering to are the plastic ones on the tank side still... all that grit around the fuel tank panel is from fuel capturing the dust. The leak may still be from the female plastic fittings. If an o-ring begins to fail, yes the leak is exaggerated easily by twisting the male fitting.

I'd say call triumph and ask a service advisor/tech if the updated sleeves are plastic or metal.

Cali: You are right. The TRIUMPH recall will update the fittings to metal, but it only covers the male fittings in the hoses side. Per the other TRIUMPH boards, the plastic ones in the tank can also break very easy. Several TRIUMPH owners have replaced both sides (tank and hoses)

it shouldnt be too pricy... should be able to find some inexpensive and install them w some sealer on the threads vs towing to a dealer/paying for install.

or you could just ride it to a triumph dealer but be sure to ride it FAST. I mean like 120mph the whole way so you don't leak too much gas!

I would suspect bad o-rings..and in the female ends of the connection.

Well...while inspecting the female fittings in the tank, the top one broke while I was touching it. I guess it was already fractured.
The problem now is that the plastic thread in now stuck inside the fuel-pump plate where the female connector bolts....!!! I already removed the plate with the fuel filter and the fuel pump and took everything apart. I will use a soldering iron to melt the plastic. I already order the 4 metal fittings (2 male and 2 female connectors) from Team Triumph.
Last night I try using a torx and allen "L" rammed in what is left from the connector but no luck when trying to take the plastic thread out.
I'm planning also to replace the o-rings in all the connectors.

Got the connectors today and proceed to install them but first have to remove the old plastic thread stuck in the fuel pump and fuel filter plate (the whole assembly goes inside the fuel tank)

In the following pictures you can see the thread from the broken connector stuck inside the metal base:






The old plastic thread removed and base cleaned:




New connectors installed:



New metallic fuel connectors installed next to the old plastic connector. Both are the same brand (Colder Products Company)

Be careful not to nick the o-rings when you reinstall the lines.
