Not a lot know, but the shop I had rebuild the crank on my sportster motor recommended that I have them check valve to piston clearance. The cams I’m running have about .222 thou of lift at overlap, which is getting close on an evo. I didn’t have the proper tools to do this, so I let them. Somewhere along the way they interpreted that I said they should go ahead and assemble the thing too rather than giving me back all the parts and pieces, and letting me put the motor back together. I was a little mad about it and kind of put it out of my mind for a few months; I needed a while to think about what went from an $800 dollar bill to $1400. I went to go see it today and it looks pretty dang good. The thunder jet they purchased without my authorization (I needed it but I still have employee pricing at the dealership I worked at) won’t match the paint though; it's red, and I needed black or blue. They did a great job porting and cleaning up the SE heads as well, which by the way are NOT worth the money. If you'll look back thru this thread you'll see pictures of the intake and exhaust ports... absolutely atrocious. I didn't take pictures of the work they did because at this point I consider it my "secret weapon", but trust me... it's top notch work. They do build a load of fuel bikes for the local clubs and their race teams. Build is still months, if not over a year away from completion but a little bit of progress after a year is nice. I was going to powdercoat the rocker covers, cam cover, and primary cover but at this point I will save my money and just polish them. I will still powder coat the 9 spoke mags I have, and the fork sliders.
