Recomend at ions for a bike jack

I just traded for a Harley street bob and will need a jack to work on the bike. Remove wheels etc. Any brands to stay away from or ones that are better than the rest? Thanks.

I currently use the Harbor Freight stand. It works well for me.

they all "work". I had a softail on a harbor freight for over a year straight with no issues. Just be sure to use the locking bars. It'll move a little but allow you to still get the work done. for a heavier bike, I would prefer a pitbull or J&S. Those can be found used for 200-300 if your'e patient.

btw, w/ the cheap ones, its always the bottle jack that goes out on them. the seals will start to leak and the jack won't hold pressure. you can buy another standard bottle jack and it'll fit right in.

Used the harbor freight jack for several years and it has facilitated in a rebuild or two. Hard to beat for the money. I had 1 out after a few years of usage. Same failure as mentioned above... cheapo bottle jacks.

The harbor freight is always a trade off but for the money I can rebuild. I found a craftsman on CL for $50. Need to see if it's still available.

Don't be a track snob. I still have a supermoto, sv650, r1, a mini sumo, 2 smoke dirt bike and 2 scooters. He'll a most half of those run now too.
