Toll Road Tag
Does anybody know if the toll road bar that is given for motorcycles works when inside the saddlebags? I did mount it to the front of the windshield as the instructions stated, but sometimes I Wana ride without the shield on.

I don't keep mine on my bike at all. I just let it read my plate. If a cop stops me, I tell him I have no windshield. Half the time it doesn't even pick up my bike or charge me. lol At least the toll lanes on the beltway. The new ones in 99 and i-10 etc pick up the bike.
When they don't detect the tag, they look up your plate, and if that plate is set up with an EZ tag acct, they will charge your account for the toll. |

Exactly ^^^. Let them look up the plate. If they want their money them they're gonna have to work for it. And if they can't read the plate them that's their problem.

![]() I'm not putting that ugly white box on my beautiful bike! Besides, the instruction clearly state "on windshield". I can't help it if I don't have one. |

Do you have to get a separate tag for each bike?
I mean if they can bill you from the plate, couldn't they also tell the plate doesn't match the tag? |

Ride to an ez-tag store as I think they all have test sensors and lights mounted somewhere to ride past and check for no fee. I know for sure the one on the west beltway near Clay Rd does anyway. |

No, the box tags are considered "travelers tags". in order to get an ez tag you need a vehicle to register it to, but in the end it'll charge the account no matter what vehicle you are in... You just need to call them and update if you will be in another vehicle temporarily. I have ordered several of these for my guys that are constantly traveling in Texas.

I use the thin sticker - type ez tags on my bikes, the same ones we use on our car windshields. I had to argue with the ez tag clerk to issue them for my bike, but I eventually got them.
They are very thin, so I mount them inside my fairings (R1, 1098), and they work great! Invisible and lightweight. And the toll booths always pick them up, only my thin, plastic fairings between them and the reader. Greg |

Toll Road Tag
Its suppose to work from inside bags but I used epoxy and glued it to the back on my license plate.
The thick bar tag is what I have for my bike |
