New Street Glide sleeper

The boys at Republic HD had a bike buildoff on the showroom floor so people could watch a Stage 4 being installed. They loaded it into a 2014 Street Glide Special, denim black.

It's now MINE! Got a great deal on it, couldn't pass it up. Plus I have been salivating over the improvements and the console on the 2014's.

Can't even pick it up yet. I am having black Thunderheaders and black Heavy Breather installed, a race tuner and then dyno. The Thunderheaders have to be ordered, and take a few weeks.

It's going to be a serious sleeper.

I'm going to take it to my brother in law who powdercoats and we're going to murder it out the rest of the way. Looks pretty good right freaking now, heh.

Will post more pics when it rolls.

First pic is base bike. Second is torn down during buildout. Third is after stage 4 installed. The breather the mechanic put on is coming off, that was just his idea what he would want. They wanted to charge me extra for that, I said no, if I'm paying for stage 1, put on what I want.

Thats the style Harley I want, the Street Glide. Thats one of a nice bike! Still WAY out of my budget at my age though. Especially one like yours lol. Is this gonna be a patrol bike or no?

I'll have to answer that from the dyno to be perfectly true, but reports of the 103 with Stage 4 are around 110-117 HP and 112-120 torque. I'll post the dyno when they do it.

I've seen another Stage 4 build they did in 2010 called Vanishing Point. It is a popo Electra Glide they just went nuts with. It is just stupid-fast off the jump. A buddy in my MC owns it now.

I like the road glide better but only after riding one for a summer. It had to grow on me. I like the street glide but don't like the head shake in triple digits.

Pipes came in last week. She came home yesterday.

Put 60 miles on her just to get acquainted. All I can say is "holy ".

They did not dyno her prior to the break-in period being done. They did a stage 1 upload and left it at that, and I'm to take her back after 1000 miles for the dyno. On low end, she stutters a bit still, because it's not fine-tuned yet. On the upper end she has serious guts, and the torque at speed is really felt. I had her loping along at 75 in 6th gear, leaned on it, and it just exploded.

The guy who does the tuning was really stoked about my choice of pipes and breather. He said it was good that I held out for the Thunderheaders. He expects that to add a couple of HP to the upper end. And he likes the choice of the Heavy Breather also. I asked him if he thinks it will hit 120 HP on the dyno, and he said he thinks it'll be close.

Anyway, here is what she looks like now.

Thanks amigo. My brother in law is a powder coater, and I'm going to get it to him and coat the engine guard, fork sleeves and primary cover. Then I'm going to put a Roland Sands derby cover on it, the kind you can see inside the primary.

I was on a project in California with a guy named Daniel DeNardo, he is a staff writer for easy rider magazine.

He had a 2013 street glide with a vendor supplied 127 CI Ultima installed. He was doing a test run and evaluation for them. They had done some additional upgardes to the ECM, intake and exhaust, he was saying the bike put out close to 165Hp at the rear wheel.

That is probably the fastest Street Glide I have ever seen, he could run down the street in 1st gear and roll the throttle, the back tire would just smoke.

It went back to the dealer today for followup dyno, 110hp/112tq. Not as strong as I hoped, but whatever, it's still strong as . And it's getting about 42 MPG still, even after those engine mods, so that is good.

Added a few things over the last couple of weeks. Pics of the mods.

Smoked out rear turn signals, and LED bulbs. 4 point docking hardware for passenger backrest (have it, not shown) or tour pack (don't have it). Aaaaaand I gave it a spiked collar just because it's a very good puppy. Good girl, sit, good girl.
