Anyone good working on Harleys in the clear lake / Webster area? I need to replace the oil drain hose and trying to see if there is an easy way to do this? Looks like the clamp is messed up but going to replace both just in case.

that type of clamp is called an Ear clamp. they are not reusable. you can put on a new one or just get a $1 standard hose clamp. as for the hose itself, you can buy one from the dealership or just use the same diameter pcv hose from the auto parts store.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008L4874S...I3I9EQ4K7RVZ4T If you're going to own a HD, I highly advise buying a service manual. (Not being a smartass. Just saying it will pay for itself in one use.) ps - unless you're having to add oil, I wouldn't even bother messing w/ it. You'll go crazy trying to keep a HD engine all clean. |

Yea the clamp itself I'm sure is loose. Going to use a regular clamp that you tighten with a screw driver. The book is a real soon purchase. Just got the bike. Haven't really started with my own maintenance yet... this is my first project other than small modifications.

You can snip those clamps off and just put a screw clamp on there. Be careful when you snip it... just give enough pressure to break the clamp and not cut through the hose.
Ask me how I know ![]() |

Good evening.
I just noticed this post. I have the same issue on my Fatboy. No dripping in the floor so not sure if is worth it to mess with this. I have the extended warranty but not sure I want to take the bike to the stealership for something that simple. How you remove this kind of clamp? |
