Lets go fishing!

So I have been taking my bike to a small shop in La Porte. The guys are good and they have great attitudes, but lately they have been too busy handling their personal lives and playing catch up with their family. I support getting your life in order and putting family first...
But I also don't have the patients anymore to wait for them. With that being said, I really need to find another shop. I want someone who knows their from factory Harley setups to high end Harley modifications. Someone who is a at troubleshooting and is 100% reliable! I don't have a problem paying good money for quality work and that is exactly what I need. Any referrals will be greatly appreciated! Also, I'd like to find someone in my general area (League City, Galveston, Baytown, or SE Houston). Thanks! |

Iron Mike's on 146 is supposed to be pretty good. I've never used them but everyone who has, has been pleased with his work.

Motorcycles Unlimited on 1960@Sugarpine in Spring, TX has a great rep as well. Although it may be far from you, sometimes good work is worth the travel.

Yea, I'm not going that far.
I'm the type that likes to drop in from time-to-time and see the progress. Any shop outside of a 15 minute drive is not worth it to me. There are many other shops in my area, they are just not discovered yet... or have been brought to my attention. |

I'm hearing some horror stories about Iron Mikes... It really sucks to hear bad things about someone especially when you are on the fence about it all to begin with. I might have to do a crash course on Harley's and figure this out myself...

I've been there in the past, but only had questions for them. What's your buddies name? The shop I was taking my bike to was right around the corner from them on Spencer.
Does your friend know anything about right side drive transmissions? |

Went yesterday but Neal was out. I did talk to Johnny, great guy! Also, Catfish is working there too (Another great guy to do business with), I'll definitely be taking my bike there when the next big issue arises.
Thanks Robert for the referral! |

So I took the bike to Neal and had them work on it. I'm pretty impressed with them.
Turns out the other shop didn't have the right parts for my transmission and just threw some sporty parts in there... WTF. I had been riding my bike around for a good while and kept hearing a chirp/squeak coming from my drive belt area every time I got off the throttle. The manufacturer for Trik Shift couldn't fathom how my bike was even moving with the parts that were in it! The good thing was none of the Trik Shift parts or transmission were affected by the sporty parts, but the sporty parts on the other hand... well, they just weren't supposed to be mated to that transmission in the first place. In the end, H&H Cycles came through! They only charged me for parts and some labor... but I got a whole lot out of them! I will be a repeat customer! Thanks Robert for the referral! And if the guys from H&H Cycles read this... Thank you Neal, Johnny, and Catfish (Robert) for all your hard work and being so understanding of my situation. |
