I have tried them and they are good. When the bull reds run, you can haul in some big gafftop. I said what the and fried some up. At least as good as catfish maybe better.

they are tasty for sure.. just that slime.. gets all over the boat. on your rod and reels. a big mess with them gaftops

Every year they come through the Galveston jetties. I have never seen them that close to the top. I have seen them look like that on the finder though. My dads boat had a dual element side scanning Feruno.

Well i call it sheephead, all i know is there fun to catch and good eatting. you stay near a pier? if you don't mind me asking in gal or freeport? man i would love to fish near pier at night with my kayak, even though i have an 2k watt spot light and 3500 watt gen.
