Who is running to the sore in a full leather race suit?

I have a 1 piece Techair race suit for track riding and an alpinestar jacket that I pair with either jeans or leather pants for street riding.

If its 106* and need to run to the store I use my Tahoe with A/C.

I have seen people die from road rash. Now that's a stupid way to die.

Many people never realize that, as far as your body is concerned, road rash is like a burn. We all know major burns are dangerous because of infection not to mention the scars.

Nobody is suggesting that we should wear full leathers to go to the store, that was brought up to illustrate that proper gear can save your , even in extreme circumstances.
I say go ahead and laugh about it, continue to believe it won't happen to you. Maybe it won't, but if it does, you're gonna wish it was a dead cow's skin you left on the road.

As far as how hot it is, I often tell people, "I can cool off faster than you can heal up".

Ya'll do know the object of the game of riding a motorcycle is not to fall off !!! . That hurts gear or no gear and the older you get the longer that hurts

WAY TO GO FLIP ! ! !

Way to drag up one of the oldest and beat to death debates on MH.
ATGATT vs SQUID.

As long as we've started....
Hey - what does everyone think about laaaane splitting?
Lane splitting vs Cager.

Everyone pull out their Pink album and "Lets Get This Party Started".
What's the best way to delete the side view mirror from a cager???

BTW - what every happened to the squid thread? Did Trump ban it? I haven't seen anything on that since like the election.

laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane splitting is fine -- as long as the general population accepts it.

I grew up in a country that accepts and embraces lane splitting. Makes bike riding and commuting a pleasure.

I spent 10 years laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane splitting all day, everyday. Wearing ATGATT.

Then I immigrated to the US where laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane splitting is hated by cagers who go out of their way to punish bikers for their easy commute.

As a result I no longer laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane split.

!!! I didn't dig up old threads on purpose. I'm just wanting to talk about moto related topics and keep it fresh... Sorry if the off-topic section is becoming repeatedly boring because of the same old banter. No worries, I'll still post something occasionally in the OT.

I was just harassing you. LOL
I do read the posts and it's just amusing reading the 50 year old riding gear debate with new names.

Not boring. Doesn't it seem like you've heard all of this before??? Many times? I'm an old fkucer and I learned to ride when I was nine. Even my MOM would give me the business. The difference was that she always dead stopped the argument with a major guilt trip for a nine year old. "How would you feel if you made me have to come to the hospital? How can you do that to your mom?" She'd say, "I wish yer dad never bought that dirty rotton murdercripple."
Back then my "gear" had nothing to do with safety. It had everything to do with "COOL". Gear???? That's what you shift. Road rash is a phrase that didn't exist. Eric and me were 17 and we dressed the same. But he got cut in half sliding down a guard rail.
I was one of the first with a freaking AWESOME BLUE & METAL FLAKE full face helmet and a TINTED bubble visor! I had a black leather Biker Jacket with a WAAAAY cool rabbits foot on the zipper that was special ordered from Sear & Roebuck. I made James Dean and Fonzy look like .

Gasoline, dude. Iím straight up serious. All these slick cats out there like shell and royal purple and what have you have been trying to pull the wool over peopleís eyes for years now, all in the name of profit. Since the beginning though, thereís been a secret that only those in the know have been aware of, but today Iím going to share it with you. Everyone knows where gasoline comes from, but no one ever thinks of it! Do you know where it comes from? Itís oil! Gasoline is a super refined, engineered product thatís even better than the raw stuff they try to sell to you at a super high markup at the store! The next time youíre at a gas station, pop your oil cap and put a quarter gallon in there as a test. Youíll immediately notice the better performance of the engine as you drive off!

...

I could probably make that more true to form by randomly capitalizing words and throwing graphics sporadically, but if I see one of those stupid email chains start circulating, Iím going to claim copyright.

Nailed it! I rode near 8 years without gear and 3 of those years was without a lid. I am much older now and wiser... And maybe more conditioned to the elements. But back in the days I couldn't stand gear! Mainly because I felt like it restricted my ergonomics and a lid on my head was like throwing a pillow case over me... I felt like I couldn't hear or see as well. Boy, times have changed quite a bit. I get it... AGATT... But sometimes a helmet and gloves are a MUST.

Nothing is scarier than forgetting you ate an edible an hour ago and then jumping on your bike, to only realize your errors 45 minutes later when you're carving the corners in the mountainous coastal highways :eek

HAIL !! !

Gear is wonderful during hail. Got caught in marble hail on my way home from Wisconsin International Raceway on my CB 350 with a T-shirt. 40 mph nearly killed me. My that hurt like 773H !!!! I had my lid, that's all. Got into town and headed right up into someone's front yard under a bigass oak tree for 30 minutes.

Thanks for the read! Reminded me I’ve been putting off riding due to hot weather. Going to head over to the gear section to read up on warm weather riding gear. LoL.
