YO!!!

Been a while since I've been around, but just sold my car and gonna use some of the leftover money for a bike... If I can find one.

There was a beautiful Ducati Monster that was dirt cheap but it was already sold.

Question for the MH pros: How are the R3s and Kawasaki 300? I looked up specs and all on line, but wanna hear what some of y'all that have ridden them think. Are they like the 250s? Good for a while, but will get boring and kinda sluggish to get up to highway speed?

I'm really considering one of those, but don't want what happened to me when I bought that 250.

Even though my last street bike was a beat to 2000 Duc 600 that barely made it to 90mph lol... it still was nice to look at and it got up to speed quick.

Of course I wanna get a older 600... preferably a 07 GSXR since I fell in love with the one I had for track. Only thing is these sellers are INSANE with their prices on 15-20 year old bikes (why??).

Is the market really that high right now for bikes?

Y'all help me decide or gimme your wisdom.

Looking forward to doing some meets and them SMRs.

Do you have a budget in mind?

Commuter use? Some track? Adventure style being considered?

Or ideally, the GSXR you mentioned?

Ideally the GSXR, of course. Unfortunately, with the reputation of being the choice bikes for squids... I'm concerned about how they treated it lol

Some of these fools are nuts with prices. I have allocated about 4k for the bike... Depending on the expenses we got and if I have more leftover after. I could go higher.

Of course my lady rather me spend a lot less and I like that idea too... but it doesn't work that way lol

I'm not in a huge hurry, but would jump on a deal.

... I would even take a track bike with a title so I can ride it on the street and just slap some lights on it lol

Forgot to add... a Cafe Racer or nekkid bike would do the trick too.

It would be my commuter since we already have a car...

Actually, I too have been dabbling with a comeback. I even bought oil and a filter to change on my bike and bought a new helmet lol..

I have a friend here in Austin who has a 1998 GSXR 750 that he was trying to unload. I'm not sure if he still has it, but if that would interest you I can reach out to him. I believe it has old tires so it would need new tires and I think there's one spot where the decals may be peeling slightly. Other than that it is pristine.

I don't recall the exact price but I believe it's in your price range.

Not a fan on the body style/look from that old.

Also the kawi 250 compared to the kawi 300 is just a little more top end power (not much) but the bike is bigger. They're a hoot especially on the track with good tires. The yamaha 300 is way ahead IMO. The way it distributes power is different. The older model AND even more so the newest one. I've seen a lot of people looking at the kawi 400. That one is cool. Pretty fast. If I didn't at least get a 600 I'd do the 400 if it would be my only bike.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. This guy has a clean '17 Honda CBR500 that is a bit above my budget, but might shell out the cash cuz it's clean looking and only 3 years old.

Good thing is I'm not in a rush at the moment so might stumble onto a good deal.

I got spoiled with the deal that I got from Gonzo's old race bike lol

yoooooooo i just put my street triple up for sale. ive gotta get some money together for custody battle expenses.
i forgot to put in the ad that it comes with an sssa rear stand. pretty sure its a t rex stand.
