Either way the video clearly shows the guy backing up when the old guy shot him. Almost hit him in the back.

Hand grenades and horseshoes. Didn't see either. Dude didn't start backing up until after the shooter pulled his gun. You might perceive a threat differently if you're knocked on your and still on the ground instead of calmly viewing surveillance video from a camera that's some distance away.

Exactly!
People will continue to do whatever the they want until they are corrected. So many seem to have the attitude that the rules of society apply to everyone else but not them.

If nobody says anything then they assume they are correct. It's gotten to the point that if someone DOES say something then the attitude is, you are disrespecting me because I have a right to _______.

For a young man to throw a much older guy to the ground with no regard for the possibility, the likelihood, of injuring him is beyond overreacting. There is no way in you can put the blame on the older guy.
He was doing what ALL of us should do, shaming someone for abusing the rest of us. When it got heated then only a low life oiece of would violently attack him.

The proper response would be to have apologized and gotten in his car feeling a little ashamed that he parked in a handicap space for his own convenience.

If you're raised right you never occupy a handicapped space unless you are actually handicapped. Unfortunately the dead guy's kids learned the hard way.

but that takes ownership of his actions, or gasp... responsibility.

Character is doing what's right when nobody is looking... if he's not handicapped, then parking in that spot shows a lack of character. His actions show a lack of restraint and a violent demeanor. i wonder how many times he's gotten away with acting like that? It was bound to bite him one day

I have never parked in a handicapped space. Even with a broken leg. (Left leg). I always imagine somebody taking a handicapped spot that doesnít need one and then a war veteran that had a leg blown off has to park further away because some self righteous feels they are entitled to a special spot. While Iím on this topic. Being morbidly obese doesnít qualify as a handicap. Fat should park at the back of the lot. And no fatties in the drive through lines ordereing everything on the menu twice.

One of my friends was walking across a grocery store parking lot when a fat chick
pulls up in a handicap spot, gets out of the car and started waddling along. No plates or blue rearview thingy showing.

My buddy says, under his breath, "I didn't realize FAT was a handicap".

She heard him. He was amazed by how quickly an overweight, entitled woman can go from blobbing along like a gob of jello to an animated whirling devil.
She began to curse him and pronounce how she had a "right" etc.

He said he stared straight ahead and walked a little faster, ha ha ha

His discourse was with the driver of the vehicle, not the person that came out of the store.

your friend sounds like a douche. and you for telling us that story. did he confirm she wasn't handicapped or just assumed in true douche form? handicap people do borrow cars. lose placards when moving them to multiple cars. they can get stolen. and many handicap people do become overweight because of their handicap. BUT HRHRHR SHE WAS FAT

When my wife and I go to the store we don't even take the "closest spots" by the handicap spots for this reason. I'm not in my best shape of my life anyways the extra walk won't hurt. My sisters mother in law has real bad knee problems and has had multiple surgeries and I can't tell you how often she has to walk further than she should. Its irritating when able people park so close because of the walk or the heat.
