Im glad to see that someone still values family even through the mess it might be sometimes. You're lucky to have a brother like that. I was always cool with my brother until one day he moved to austin and I havent heard from him since. At times I feel all alone in this world since my father/ best friend have passed on. The few people who are related to me dont even feel related anymore.

But its up to ourselves to keep out head up and our shoulders straight to make it through the pain, and start your own definition of family..

i can agree with alot that is said here. you definitly have to create your own definition of a family sometimes. i do it with my friends and their families, otherwise all i would have is my 2 kids, my brother and mom.

grimace its good that you have somewhat overcame your past. i feel like people can take their past and use it as an excuse to do the things done to them or they can learn from it and make themselves better. im glad your brother has done well with his life, im sure he would be happy to know youre sharing this with your friends.

Grimace. It's good that you can talk about something like this on MH. I have seen what Vandals posted and it really broke my heart. I have a Son who lives with his mother and even though he lives 10 minutes from me I hardly see him. I work alot and he just prefers his mother. I pray and hope that one day we will be close but not so sure. I don't talk to many people about this because at times they just don't get it. I have done everything in my power to tell him that I love him and to do the right thing. At times I feet like a failure because I run everything through my head of what could I do differently. I came to MH not only for the love of motorcycles but also wanting to make and meet new friends. So far it has gone ok. slower than I had hoped, lol. Hard to get to the meets from time to time. If you ever need to talk let me know. I don't vent much but try not to hold it in either. I hope sometime we can meet and ride soon.

i would write more on my thoughts but im pressed for time all of a sudden, but i wanted to at least touch on the subject, really just to give you props.
kudos for the respect you have for your family and your lil bro.
sometimes its hard to express how you really feel to people, mb its awkward or you dont have the time.
one thing ive learned though is that the oppertunity you have to tell the ones you love how you feel is fleeting, it will not last forever.
take a moment to call him and tell him man.

I lost my dad in April of 07 to cancer. My dad & I rode together also. We did the off road and dual sport thing together. I wish I had the opportunity to ride the streets with him. I am sorry for your loss. I hope to meet you sometime or ride together.

Grimace, that's cool man. Glad to hear your brother is a positive influence and was able to overcome possibly being a bad seed.
