Cheap helmet for 8 yr old

So my ignorant in-laws bought a piece of dirt bike for my 8 yr old nephew

. It does, however, go fast. They "have no money" for gear and allow him to ride with no gear at all

. He has already suffered a significant exhaust burn

. I would like to find at least a helmet for him. I am hopeful that if I come up with a helmet, at least they will make him wear it

. I'm thinking an adult small, or youth large??
