wtb oem style sv650 naked headlight
I would guess a cb headlight, or any other oem 7 inch round headlight would be good. i just picked up another sv, and the headlight is wobbling around in it's shell.

so far, ive ordered brake pads, a cheap rear seat in good shape, a new radiator, steering bearings, and some new grips and levers. i need to get a front seat cover and this headlight.
the front end seems off, too. maybe its just needing the bearings, but i think the PO did some damage doing a fork seal replacement. i might just take the forks to a pro and let them figure it out. lol i hate fork work hey albert, do you want a givi locking top box? it is so huge. i took it, and its frame off already. ill never use it. also, PO set it up for gp shift with his comuter top box lol |

light output and pattern on those dual 4" is though... I've had several sets that I used for a number of years. If you want to be able to see at night stick with the 7". If just going for looks, they'd probably be ok. I've found quite a few different styles of 7" housings that are fairly inexpensive.
https://www.denniskirk.com/emgo/flat...id=product2_rr I had to supplement my last set with an LED light bar |

they're bright as , but the beam isn't directed well. definitely would not recommend using one as anything but a "high beam" or off-road light, but I've like it well enough on the Venture that I also put one on my Ural and my mini bike.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HNNMIOS they're cheap enough, and even after being submerged in Harvey, the one on my mini still works. the last pic on that product posting is an accurate indication of the lack of beam cut off that's required for a proper headlight though. if you're looking for a used 7" light setup, I may be getting rid of the halogen setup (with fork mounting ears) that I had on my sprint. the mounting ears won't work with my new forks and the TruckLite LED headlamp that ended up on my Ural didn't fit with the housing and I think I want to convert to LED this time around. |

damnit... I missed your reply here and for some reason this thread never showed up under new posts for me. sorry about that.
the guy who bought my SV is wanting to do a completely new tail section, but not sure what is plan is for the seat and whether or not he'll keep the stock one or ditch it. I'll see if I can find out though. you need a full replacement or just a new cover? |

covers are a pain in the , and i can be kind of lazy. i was actually considering getting a corbin or sargent seat. if a good deal on a stocker in good shape happens though, i'd be down.
im also seeing some things online that are making me question the swappability of other years of sv seats. is the 03 unique in it's fitment? i had no idea of this, before becoming the owner of an 03. i figured second gen is second gen. the tail seems just a little bulkier than i remember, around the upper shock mount and battery tray area. |

fitment on the '03 vs. others, I have no idea. I'll look around and compare part numbers. I should still have vinyl on-hand, and have done quite a few covers... in fact I think I recovered the SV seat on my brother's bike when I had it. happy to do a cover for you if you want, I'd just need to figure out how to get the seat and get it back to you.
when I picked it up (vinyl was dried out from sitting in the sun... didn't dissintegrate until I sat on it): https://www.instagram.com/p/BflsKl5BkJn/ before: https://www.instagram.com/p/BgP4IscAsn4/ after: https://www.instagram.com/p/BgShhntAZty/ |
