Yeah - i mean, that helmet is a little on the heavy side, but its a better lid than anything else you can get in that price range.

Just bought a XXL silver RPM. For $55 delivered, it's worth a shot. I have an EX400 I use for when I fly in somewhere to ride or have a friend that needs to borrow one. It's OK, but not the most comfortable. I hope the 1000 will be good for street use.

The 1000 is their touring helmet. It's much more stable and aerodynamic upright than it is in a tuck. It's heavy, but it does vent well. The shell shape is SLIGHTLY oval, and keep in mind that Scorpion sizes run a bit small.

Oh....the 1000 is discontinued and was replaced with the 1100. Date of manufacture on these lids should be around 2011-2012.

Nor would I which is why I don't wear ICON. Scorpion is a good helmet from all I have seen.

Well the scorpion helmet crash was a lot worse, the one I had with my shoei was a low side and I rode back home

Haha I havent crashed in a while though

but scorpion no doubt is a good protective helmet. A little heavy because of the weird novelty tint pull down visor but good helmet no doubt.

Dam i have an icon alliance speedmetal helmet , is it not good ? Its got like 5 certified approvals i just cant think of them all

Im actually trying to get a helmet with a drop down visor. Im probably going to get the new HJC is-17. pinlock ready, with sun visor, plus anything is lighter than the helmet I have now.

Icon is just generally know for having style over build quality. They still meet the requirements.
Basically, when you go up in price on the icon line... you get more style, not quieter, lighter, better.
