MSR accidents 25th

Anyone know how the guy is that crashed last Session L2. Happened right in front of 3 of us. He went to the ditch on straight before the carousel. Bike came back across track in front of the two guys in front of me then luckily went right into the dirt. Saw life flight come in. Sure was an eye opener to me reminding me that it is only a track day. Glad the two guys in front of me did not get caught up with the bike coming on track.

If you would have turned on your GoPro, we would know.

Just messing with you, I hope he’s ok. It was weird riding by and no one was near the bike.

Nice finally meeting you yesterday

That was me dude. I have no idea what happened, I came out of diamond’s edge and had the bike stood completely upright. Suddenly I get a huge tank slapper, which is nuts because I have a hyper pro steering dampener. I tried to throttle out of it and stayed light on the bars but it eventually just bucked me.

My right femur is broken into at least 4 pieces. Bike is totaled obviously.

I bought that bike brand new and put all 32,000 miles on it. I did my first trackday in 2012. I have no idea why that slapper was so hard and aggressive.

Surgery is tomorrow morning. We’ll see how it goes.

If anyone caught it on film. I’d love to see it. I had a GoPro chest mount and a SENA 19C, and both got torn off during the fall. No idea where either are at.

Crashing sucks. I crashed earlier in the month on sugar/spice and also needed surgery to pin bone in place. I hope all goes well and you recover soon brother, sending prayers your way.

I can't speak for @Gundamnitpete, but yes, having to get surgery after a crash and wear a splint for 8 weeks, plus negative impact to work and family, thousands in medical bills (my deductible wasn't met yet), does make you reconsider the sport..

Now diamond edge can be your nemesis too. That front wheel gets light pulling out of there. Heal up.... sounds like you have a fairly lengthy road ahead. Out of network ambulance rides and super high medical bills have kept me away from the track... plus the 3 kiddos and impact to daily life. responsibilities.

Glad you were ok otherwise and no internal injuries. No concussion I hope. Not sure your age but the doctors are really great. Where did they transport you and who is your doctor. Do what you decide after healed.

Had my camera on but the on button was pushed twice so went off.

All I saw was a bunch of dust then your bike appeared on the track. I was far enough back to slow down but was not sure where the two guys in front were going. Your bike came from the dirt sparking and spinning. Then all of a sudden it went to the right and stopped immediately near the ditch. I talked with my buddy and he thought you might of ran wide or pushed to right passing someone.

I never even saw where you were.

I talked with a guy in the pits looking for a trailer because you must of rode there.

Again good wishes and all our prayers for a full recovery. Will take some time but rehab rehab and you should be good. Been in your spot. Keep your friends near and keep your attitude up. The human body is incredible at healing itself.

Someone Needs to go find them. I will donate a $100 for finders fee. Seriously. Could be the video that will make that decision that is floating in your had. And besides people are sick and like to watch crashes. Some crash videos do help others on what not to do.

Oh man, I had no idea this even happened! Apparently this was a bad weekend to pit with me. That makes 2 guys pitted with me winding up in the hospital. I hope you heal fast. Femurs can be a tough recovery.

Was it the end of the carousel or the right turn coming onto the front straight?

I like watching crash videos, because it keeps me in check and learn from what happened so I don’t do it or know what to do if it happens.

I feel bad for the two guys pitted with me that had real crashes and had to be transported but I figured I'd share my crash video here. I still can't believe 3 crashes and a mechanical all came from under one canopy yesterday!

That is bad karma. There were a lot of accidents. Anyone know what happened with rider hitting wall at in L3. Talked with one of his friends in restroom and he said he came of bike hit the wall and then the bike hit the wall a few feet behind him and came over top of him. I might have to stick with COTA.

Yeah, he was pitting with me. That's what I heard happened. They released him from the hospital and he drove his truck and trailer home today. Some broken ribs. He got lucky for sure.

I would burn that canopy if I were you. Clearly cursed.
