Gen 1 Busa

Not sure if I am posting on the right section but can delete and repost if needed. I wanted to get some expert opinions I purchased an M4 slip on set for my busa. The guy swore up/down they came off a gen1 but upon installation the slip ons do not fit. After doing some research these belong to a Gen2. So, my question is could I somehow retro fit these slip ons to fit a gen1 and any ideas on how to get the bolt to secure the exhaust. I tried expanding the fitting on the slip on and got to go in but is not far enough in to secure the bolt (about 1/2” short) also the clamp that goes between the cat and the slipon seems to be short but can get another clamp to secure it. Any ideas and smart comments will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Could you possibly make a homemade bracket to secure bolt? Could you post a picture of said areas of concern?

I ghetto rigged the out of it by using a piece of wood and a rubber mallet to slide it in but without a doubt that is going have a leak.I been looking online for some type of exhaust joint but if I add a joint then, the bolt will be further away which may look even worse.

I would've taken a small piece of steel plate and just drilled 2 holes in it to mount, instead of beating on the pipe. If you hadn't wallowed it out too bad, maybe it's not too late to redo it.

Yeah I think it could be re-done the pipe is only 1/4 of the way in and could be brought back to normal just wanted to see how good it sounds. I only did one side to test it. If I gets metal plate could you elaborate more on the details. I looked online and found a 2” to 1 3/4” joint that may work however the joint is anoint 2.5” long which will push the exhaust bolt further up.

Yeah, kind of hard to tell what you need. Dose it just hold it on or is it a clamp to hold the muffler to the midpipe or header? Or does it do both? I would just do like suggested and make a bracket to extend it and buy some hardware from ace.

Well, the joint works a little bit like a clamp but is not a clamp. The joint can be tighten so there are nuts on each opening. One side is 2” wide which will fit perfectly on to the mid-pipe and the other side is smaller I believe 1 3/4” or 1 5/8” can’t recall the exact measurements but that be the slip-on side. Definitely open for any suggestions, the way it sits right now without a doubt there has to be a leak without mentioning the stress on the pipe by jamming it in.
