Was looking this up and talking to my grandmother yesterday; my paternal great great grandfather waited in line to get a green card at Ellis Island. He never became a citizen but his son (my great grandfather did) and my US citizenship was granted from him. I've help quite a few people fill out an I-485 and they aren't hard, really, they aren't, no excuses.

Illegal alien. Don't sugarcoat it. If he hadn't been allowed to stay here she would still be alive. My Great Uncle was murdered by 2 illegals the day after he retired at 67. They rode around California for 3 days with his body in the trunk of his car that they stole. One got 8 years, the other got 11. I'm going to find them one day.

Pretty sure ICE doesn't detain corpses. They were legal as they immigrated on a commercial ship and passed through customs at a US port.

8 and 11 years should have been the sentence for stealing the truck.
What about the murder sentence?

In what state did that happen?

I clearly stated California and a car. It happened in 1983.

So you know how much USCIS sucks . The only thing they can do quickly and effectively is cash a check. It's like the post office but not as friendly or efficient. The legal immigration system is a joke ran by a bunch of government that wouldn't last in the private sector. The whole thing needs a revamp. I hope Trump addresses what others have ignored.

You did, I wasn't paying attention.

I'm sorry that happened, that's got to be a painful thought. I hope that if nothing else, karma gets it's price.

They tell you when you go to submit the application it takes a while. Not sure why people get surprised when it takes a while.

Have you conducted business with them in the last 5 years? Nothing has come within the suggested amount of time or even remotely close to the time they suggest. However, checks they can cash immediately.
