Just bought one of these to get my feet wet in hydroponic pepper growing:

Been googling hydroponics soo much here lately, I'm sure our IT department has me flagged for the next random drug test..

since I kept all mine in pots, I was able to move them into the garage for the freezes, so all mine survived except a ghost pepper plant.

7 Pot Douglahs are starting to come in, and the ghost pepper plant I planted in my hydro bucket has dozens of peppers all over it. Iím definitely going to buy more of these hydro systems for next year. It amazing how well they grow peppers.

Also have scotch bonnets, naga vipers, Carolina reapers, jalapenos, hatch, Serranos, tobascos, cayenneís and habaneros growing at the moment.

Iíve read up on that one. Itís the most simple method to get started. From all Iíve read, the best results come from good quality water and getting oxygenated water to the roots.

I'm slowly gathering enough peppers in my freezer to make a couple killer hot sauces.. Looks like my Tobasco and Habanero plants aren't going to produce anything this year.. not sure what's up with them.

Depending on how the winter weather goes, I may bring a few select plants inside the garage and put next to some cheap grow lights to try and keep them producing.

Hi Dogger!

My plants were lack luster this year too. I blame it on the heat this year.

For me, I think it helped having quite a few more plants this year compared to last year. All of them are in pots.. I kept them all grouped together so they helped shade each other during the summer months. So, overall, all the plants did better this year.
