DPS Non-Life-Threatening Emergency Contact Number DPS has a new wireless emergency number to report non-life-threatening situations on Texas roads such as: stranded with car problems, hazardous road condition reports, and suspicious activity at rest areas... punch in *DPS These are the participating wireless companies: ALLTEL, Nextel, Southwestern Bell Wireless, GTE Wireless, Houston Cellular and Verizon Wireless. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...it’s a free call. |

Great info Robert... I'm actually going to probably use that.. i'm on the roads all day long and I do come acrosss alot that I dont want to bother the police with, but I feel though its my obligation too...would a rear ended accident (15 mph hit) be good for that number... any other good numbers???

Yeah I was wondering what would be some "qualifications" to dial this number vs 911. I like the whole idea though, I've never heard about this number. Thanks for the information!
