Ok Ive already asked about the helmets, and I APPRECIATE it Im thinkin Im gonna go with the Shoei X-11.........Now my question is what type of jackets and gloves do you guys recommend?

Nice pick on the helmet, i have the same thing and i like it. As for the jacket, do you want leather or textile? I have an alpinestar leather that i really like

You’ll hear a lot of "I like this over that" comments... but bottom line, it's going to be what you like/want, so you need to hit up shops and try some on. Look for what fits well, has protection and is in your price range, and you can't go wrong.

and make sure that helmet fits, that's the same helmet I wanted but it didn't fit for anything.

Some of the brands we carry in stock and I personally like are:
Alpinestar, Fieldsheer, Komodo and Teknic.
They all make good jackets and gloves.

As far as boots? Alpinestars and Sidi are about the best 2 on the market but there are others.

We do carry a large selection of Sidis in stock as well.

Helmets, this subject has been discussed ad nauseum. Pick a good quality helmet that fits properly. I personally like the way Suomy and Arai fit my head. HJC, Scorpion, Shoei & Shark are also good.

I checked out the new Suomy Vandal helmets on Saturday at Motorcycles Unlimited. I was very impressed and it is half the price of an X-11.

go into a few places and try on different gloves and jackets, just make sure the back of the jacket will cover your lower back when you are leaning forward, that way you have that covered if/when you slide down the road, road rash right on the belt line sux!

but gloves are the same way make sure it feels good on your hand while your squeezing the clutch/brake levers and moving on the throttle.

You did not mention anything about materials. I mean, the little cloth gloves that every manufacturer puts out feel great but are a pain in the to peel out of you flesh when you go down.

i second that thought----get something that you wont be scared to fall off of a bike in. Leather is usually best. also, look for stuff that has reflective material, the more the better. make sure your gloves are comfy as , but will withstand large amounts of trauma if necessary. i have carbon fiber knuckles on my gloves with leather padding for the palms, its a good combo!

Maybe my problems were just a retarded anomaly, but I suggest trying potential gear on and sitting on your, or a similar, bike. I didn't realize until later that my jacket's (Cortech) raised collar would push my helmet forward to the point of distraction.

Also, I doubt you'll buy a jacket designed for the opposite gender like I did :icon_bigg, but it wasn't until I was on the bike riding (post purchase) that I discovered that my mobility, hence visibility, was restricted. In the store standing in front of the mirror the jacket worked, but when I ride it gets tight in some places and feels too restrictive. Plus the shoulder/sleeves are too "puffy" for me to use the side mirrors.

Yes, Anything beyond conservative I wear helmet, full leathers, back protector, gauntlet style gloves, and boots.

The stuff I have is no where near the most expensive.

Who is the one with 8 helmets, moto gp gloves, moto gp jacket, moto gp pants, lawn mowing boots.........
