Thinking of a come back

Used to race NSR50 for few years in endurance in F7. Thinking of making a come back, but mostly to sprints. What's my best choice for versitile bike? Was thinking of getting KLX110L dirt bike and making a motard? I'm 6ft 220. Any suggestions or comments for anything else? Is anyone selling a ready bike?

Ideally well sorted out NSR50 for about 2k. But, I really don't care, a motard would be fine, again on the cheaper side. Was thinking of sticking with F7 class for now. Would like to be able to race most classes and possibly get back to endurance once I find someone to race with.

Thinking of a come back

You should get the NSR and get Walter as your race partner! Maybe Brody and him can be race partners!

Will keep an eye out on an NSR (or more rare NSF). Really like the GP chassis. Found couple on E-bay, but too far, and with shipping they will be too expensive. Maybe one day, my boy can ride it too if he wants. Told my wife that I will not push kids into riding/racing motorcycles.

Brody already wants to do them, go karts etc...No pushing at all from me, quite the opposite because I don't want to make the investment in all that hardware lol.

Curious if you seen or can speak to any benefits to gp chassis over motard?

Went out to a TMGP at Katy recently and looked to me like people could rail on tard just the same.

Some i talked to said was more comfortable in the tard. Didn't really talk a whole lot to the dudes with gp frames, except the nsf who's dad sales tires and another who had a Kayo, but it was their kids riding so I didn't bother them too much.

The gp chasis sems to come at a slight premium, supply and demand, just too few of them, so also thinking if parts and bits are easily avail for them too. Are there any benefits really

I've seen an nsr on houston craigslist that looks up to task and a couple ysr's on austin CL that are stock but in excelent condition. I've come across a ysr roller chassis near Dallas who'd be willing to meet in college station, and just recently missed out on a Yxr (ysr with an XR moto) from someone on here. So I'm kinda looking at the same or KLX.

I also told the wife I'm not pushing the kids,... but I'd be damned if the door isnt already kicked off its hinges Got some Mitas tires for their 50 at last race, now want somthing to join them on too.

Tards are a bit easier for the kiddos when transitioning from the dirt. But you are correct, looks odd seeing them whoop up on the GPs

Ha...old thread. I ended up with a Grom. Raced one race on friends Grom and really liked it. Then got one, took it out for couple track outings at Katy
Really liked my Grom. Then Harvey happened and Grom spent 12 days under water. I got it running again just last week. I have too much to do with the flooded house, but spend about couple hours once in a while trying to resurrect it. I'll be back.

Yeah, last 4 months have been really shitty. I never thought how loosing pretty much all my stuff will affect me. At least my family got out safe (by boat). Trying to put everything together. R1 and SV are gone (got paid by insurance for them). I replaced those with a used FZ10 - best of both . Grom is the only vehicle I salvaged and it looks like , but it runs now. House is being repaired. I'll try again next season for minis. I still have my Katy membership, so maybe in January once the house is somewhat in order, I'll come out and ride a little.
