1996 Nighthawk 250 Build

Not much to post here cause the conversion took only about 12 hours over a week or two. This was my process:

strip down to frame
cut rear frame off
relocate tank brackets
relocate battery wiring
remove airbox
relocate wiring
cut forks down 2 inches
install 2 inch shock risers
Install taillight and plate bracket
fab headlight bracket, wire up lights
relocate harness near forks
install clip ons
cut down front fender
grind bar mounts flat, drill, wire up LED indicators
and a few other small odds and ends

Total cost $413.27

Big ticket items:

Nighthawk 250, running, wrecked $300
Gas tank, wrecked CB125S, free from my "retro grom"
Seat, Ebay $35
Lowered forks, Free
Cut frame, Free
Shock extenders, ebay, $10
LED lights, $20 for 2
LED indicators, $8
LED taillight $8
Lithium battery, free in my pile of
EMGo air cleaner and jet $14
Clip ons $35

I have 2 more of the exact same nighthawks I got for $250 each. Trying to decide what to do with them now....

What would this sell for? I figure I'd be into it for about $750 cost if I got bonded titles, and bought used tanks on Ebay. And probably 20 hours to build including getting the base bikes to 100% functional.

Depends on how you market it. Good tank and a title and I see $1500 being easy to get or more.

Honestly for the money and time spent that looks really quite good. Seems like it would be a fun little bare bones kinda bike to roll around on. And you probably could sell them for between $1500 and $2000 a pop if some of the rough edges were cleaned up and they had titles. Neat projects.

very cool!
how/where did you fins a rebel/nighthawk for 250?

i'd agree with 1500-2000. i'm sure there's a buyer out there that would pay a little over 2000 if it had a nicer tank, and fresh paint on all the things.
