Thanks Mike!! Do you know how long the riders school is? Will I have time to practice after the school before the sprints start?

yes you will have time to practice...after the class and test you will do a short mock race... and then the track will be opened up for general practice...

the class itself is really just a proceedure familiarization...
it goes over gear requirements... covers the flags and what they are for... goes over start and race proceedures... then a short mock race so folks who have never raced before can get the feel of a start |

yes, when you show up and pay your membership in TMGP, they will look at the available numbers and give you your choice....it would be good to take some means of putting numbers on your bike for the sprints that day...you will at least need numbers on the front and right side for that day...you can pretty it up later.

they have not posted up the fees yet for this year, but last year it was like $30 bucks for the TMGP membership and $30 or $35 for the race school and then the race fee for the day...after the first race you only pay the race fee... and that will vary with the number of races you enter...

there is also a gate fee... last year it was $10 bucks for the day or $12 for the both days, that fee is for riders and spectators

I dont believe they have changed it, but last year it had raised up slightly from the years before. Last year it was like
Gate 10 for 1 day 12 for 2 days TMGP license 35 for the year or 10 for a weekend license Race School 35 Sprints 35 first race 20 second race 5 for each race after Endurance I am not remembering 25 an hour plus transponder rental and scoring I think those are right. ![]() |

Well, they dont make money at this. It just helps cover the insurance and costs of renting the track and stuff. I could be wrong here, but I believe the insurance company wants to have everyone who enters sign a waiver and the fee covers the liability. I believe they charge by the person for the insurance policy. I could be off on my info, but I figure thats how it works. If you come out the first race to watch I will gladly reimburse you for your entrance fee for one.

Yes it is $10 per person for the day, or $12 for the weekend, and you do sign a waiver and wear a wrist band. The pits are open access, so you can talk to any of the riders and get an up close and personal look at the bikes. About the only place you can not go is on the track during the race. If you are a camera buff, you will likely be able to go out onto the infield and take pics...
There is not concession stand, so take any drinks and snacks you want... there are viewing stands, but if you want to sit somewhere else take folding chairs. |
