Big Bend Ride November 15th-17th 2019

My friend Russel and I traveled to Alpine Texas on Thursday and then rode Friday Saturday and Sunday. Friday ride was up 118 to Fort Davis and then up to the McDonald Observatory and then back to Alpine the same way. Weather was cool.30 degrees in the morning, 62 in the afternoon. Saturday ride was amazing. We took Hwy 90 from Alpine to Marfa then Hwy 67 to Presidio. From Presidio we took Hwy 170 to Lajitas then onto Terlingua. We then took Hwy 118 back to Alpine. Sunday we rode Hwy 90 from Alpine to Marathon. Then Hwy 385 to the Persimmon ridge entrance to Big Bend National park. We then rode to Chisos canyon. From Chisos canyon we rode to Terlingua and then made the banzai run up Hwy 118 back to Alpine. Scenery is amazing. Roads were fantastic except for 118 from Alpine to Ft.Davis. Was very wavy with tar snakes and holes. This part of the country you want to be careful. No cell phone service so no quick life flight. Better ride your best. Anyways. Trip of the decade for me.

I'd like to make that trip one day. I think I would want my dual sport though so I could run down the fire roads and such.

Did you guys see the Marfa lights?
