New Dude

Hello, fellow motoheads...well I'm not a full motohead as I do not have a bike yet with all that is going on paychecks are slim. I rode a bit when I was about 17 but I'm 50 now and the bike dreams have taken over big time. I've got my eye out for something cheap but fixable so let me know.

Hey, Morganator.
Naked, small Cruiser, or old ADV. Maybe a sport that I can make into a street fighter. I'm oldish and want a comfortable ride in case I want to do long distance.
Hopefully will get to go on one of your group rides sooner than later.

I did the same thing about 10 years ago - back into motorcycling after a long absence. I happened upon a sport tourer cheap and have been loving it ever since.

Welcome to MH 👍 Try looking for a sv650 relatively cheap lots of parts/aftermarket and sort of a do it all bike

Exactly, Silent that SV650 in the classifieds from Logan would have been perfect.
I am willing to do a grand but more than likely will have to do payments when I can on a new one. I've worked on autos, small bikes and ATVs so I have wrenching experience. I REALLY want to ride!

A little info on myself to hopefully create more cash. I'm a CAD drafter and have done oil field, pressure vessels, and structural (www.statonsteel.com). I am an artist and can do logos, murals, whatever you want. I also make bows and arrows, and Native American style flutes and some cosplay.

1998 Honda SuperHawk (VTR1000F)

There's another one of these in the For Sale section on here, but the listing is nearly a year old — not sure if it's still available.

Can't believe these bikes are worth about the same as a decent SV650. Only drawback I've read is that they have small fuel tanks and so-so MPG. But hey, that's the trade-off for having 48mm carbs.

As an old man myself i completely understand. I ride an Aprilia Tuono with handlebars and a Kawasaki ZX14 that i converted to a handlebar bike also. All i’ve owned is naked bikes.
