96sec Video. When you spot a trooper at 103

Nothing like meeting a state trooper at the apex of your favorite turn.

https://youtu.be/NKfltGlpTuc?t=5

How does that go... "you dont have to be faster than the bear, just faster than the slowest guy running from the bear"... I think thats it.

Filmed in Mexico. All speeds in KPH. ATGATT.

Uh, looks like the trooper was exiting the turn while the bike was entering the turn

Indeed. Should have put, "when you reflexively roll off extra and almost meet a trooper at the apex of your favorite turn." Too close for comfort.

Nah, he pulled over the last guy in the group (6-7 bikes back)- but gave him a warning. The unmarked Departamento de Seguridad Vial we passed about 2 min after this vid ended didn't give us any trouble either. Whew.

Yea, we totally weren't speeding, or going fast at all, or on US soil.

Hmm, this is actually a great discussion.

So obviously you were in a small group?

From what I seen from the video you hit a few gears and disappeared?

So if ONE rider in your group gets lit up, everyone doesn't stop?

Just asking because I pulled over for a LEO in a large group. From what I leaned, everyone gets a ticket. So I'm pretty much in the mindset if the LEO is not directly behind me with lights on, I'm not stopping.

It has been a source of discussion in the various groups I ride with.

I've always said I'd stop. We were all out there doing the same . Same if someone went down.

I know we all stopped on a Morgstang ride a few months ago. Warning only for the guy. Nothing for the group.

Yea, 7-8 of us. Depending on numbers and skills levels, we divide into 1,2,3 groups. This instance was one group- spaced out over a quarter mile or so, with the fastest 3 of us making a small unit in front of the other 5 guys. We always maintain speeds on straight to keep group together/be aware if something happens.

Yes, something like that. Enough riders between us that I wasn't risking my freedom on the kindheartedness of the person behind the lights.

No, but that depends on context. From experience (at least 9-10 of these), cops usually only pull over one person anyways. If lights are behind you- it's time to pull over. If the lights MIGHT be behind you, or in the middle of turning around.. theres no lawful reason to pull over and wait..

We leave no rider behind, but we're not bending over/opening our wallets for no reason.

Crashes and getting pulled over are different story entirely. Of 30+ accidents ive witnessed, we've only called for EMT once, and never used a wrecker.

Oooops! However, there's something to be said about stopping early, parking your bike, and if the officer does catch up, pointing him in the direction of those hooligans. (Leakey all day)

I should add that we've definitely chipped in to pay for speeding tickets that some of our group leaders have received on bigger rides. Way easier for 10 people to pay 1 tickets, than for 10 people to pay 10 tickets.

Yes, I've tried to talk people out of wreckers. If injuries are minor, no sence in taking a ride in the meatwagon with very stiff suspension.

Also the day my wife provoked me to race her and we got stopped we would have been the only ticketed ones...trooper had no intent to do anything to the rest of the group...15 of us pulled over right away...trooper said he couldnt believe we all stopped and let us go...
