Looking for a good dirt bike mechanic

I've been struggling to clear all the bugs out on my 2005 CRF450r. It ran strong when I first bought, then it sat up for a month or so and power cuts out when in the throttle.

I had the carb rebuilt, ran good and then it sat for a few weeks and it was to start.

I'm sure if the valves need adjustment or the carb and fuel tank need to be thoroughly cleaned.

I'm in Pearland and prefer to take it someone around this area. I know a couple shops that would love to rebuild the carb and adjust my valves...but they want around $350.

Please let me know

Apparently he is...no response though.

Any other recommendations? It's hard to trade or sale this thing when it's feel to start and needs to run better.

I came across them on my search, but they're on the opposite end of town.

Seems like quite a few reputable shops on the north side.

$350 doesn't seem too bad to me, shim valves are some work in itself plus cleaning out an FCR carb (has tons of jets and places to get clogged). I guess a valve adjust on a CRF wouldn't be too bad considering its only got one cam and not two, and four valves versus 5 (yamaha)

I thought about doing it myself until I watched the video of the guy rebuilding one....like gixxerguy said...there are a bunch of jets.

I'm really just trying to get it running strong again so I don't have problems selling it. It's been on CL for over a month now.
