This should be a nice depressing thread...How much is your health insurance?

I am soo how much I pay. I know I am 53 and my wife is 51(kids are grown) but we pay 1312/mo for health ins for 2k deduct 80/20 $90 specialist and $55 regular doc. That's 15700 a year. Seems like we should just pay cash for docs but I guess you always worry about big expenses like the big "C" , stroke or a bad crash or something.

What about ya'll what do ya'll pay, benefits and your ages and stuff just to compare.

$40/mo, single, mid 20s. $3k max out of pocket, virtually no deductibles, at least 90/10 if not 100% covered for pretty much everything you could imagine.

It's one of the perks of working for this company for sure.

I pay more to insure my truck than I pay for health insurance a month. But my truck probably has better coverage. 27. Technically still single as they see it.

I pay around $300/mo for my "family". Would be more like $600+, but wife and I work for the same firm and our employer subsidizes the premiums for individual employees. Our deductibles are 3k individuals, 9k for a family....again, employer subsidizes that cost if it exceeds 6k annually. Still rediculous....and I just paid a buttload of $$$ for wife's abdominoplasty that wasn't covered by insurance, but was needed as a result of carrying 18 lbs worth of twins. BS.

Bill, you just killed my FRIDAY Mood!

Bill, if it makes you feel any better, I've been self employed for 20+ years, and this year was slated to pay $832/month, $500 prescription deductible, $7500 medical deductible, $30 copay, $60 specialist copay, and 100% coverage after the deductible.

I finally said 'screw it' and dropped that coverage and joined my gf (oops, "domestic partner") plan with United. $160/month, $500 medical deductible, $0 prescription deductible, $10 copay on drugs, $25 dr copay, and they cover omeprazole, which Cigna wouldn't. Maybe I should lease a Porsche or something with all the money I'm gonna save this year! Ridiculous.

I believe that is to cover there own employees. They are trying to get ahead of the expense before it gets completely out of control.

bill if you want cheap insurance ..... get a real job. the money you will save might be worth it.
