I'm thinking we'll go to County Line BBQ for lunch just cause it's a pretty location right on the creek. Probably go out to Deep Eddy vodka and hit Rainey St.

Open to other ideas but keep in mind we are old. Not dead yet but pretty sure the latest, trendiest music venue isn't what we are looking for.

Anyway glad ya'll had a good time!
thank you so much bumble and while countyline is nice don't forget the oasis on lake travis beautiful views and i think its the biggest restaurant in texas. 4500 capacity

I've been there and that's a good suggestion! Thanks for the reminder!

Bee, I think Licha's is your kinda scene. Hit up Yellow Jacket Social Club for a drink before/after, it's within walking distance. Rainey St is packed with yuppies and -to- dancing from the door all the way to the back wall of most places. Make sure you have had 90% of everything you're gonna drink for the night before you show up to Rainey cause once you get there you're gonna be waiting 20min for drinks. It's fun, but it's definitely the place you end the night when you are already tanked. At least on Fri/sat it is. During the week it's fine. FWIW I like Bar Bizarre and Container Bar best over there.

Have fun!

Food is dogshit. If you want a view of the lake and casual food though try Lucy's fried chicken. It's right around one of the bends of the lake, still high elevation, with a good view.

I have to admit I didn't eat there we just had drinks. So repth is probably right about the food although it's hard to believe it tastes like dogshit but I have never eaten dogshit so I am not sure.

Valid. I reckon it's probably marginally more palatable than dogshit, but I confess I would not know because I have never tasted dogshit either.

The salsa dancing up there is nice though if you're into that kinda thing. Lots of beautiful Latina women. And you know how they feel about white boys who can dance.

It is. Chicken is good, beer is cheap, and the view is 90% as good as the view from the Oasis without all the clowns. Sunday morning chicken and waffles off the chain
