Fuel additives...
Any beneficial additives, that anyone can recommend? If so, what are you using, how much does it cost, how often are you using it, and did you notice any substantial differences?

I no longer use any other than occasionally octane booster with lower octane ethanol free gas.
I have used SeaFoam and others in the past, but after watching various You Tube videos (not always scientific), I stopped. I try to buy ethanol free gas and that takes care of almost everything. Here is one. A little cheesy. |

I cant speak with much knowledge about ethanol free gas in modern bikes/cars, but I know I only run ethanol free in my small engines (and dirtbike when I had one). Ive replaced many a fuel line and float that have been corroded/eaten/effed up by ethanol gas.

Right, isn't that the truth! I keep Ethanol free gas at the shop now that Bucees has it. But for, like you said, small engines/mowers or even an old school bike with carbs that needs to come back to life. I'm just curious about a fuel injected system, how would Ethanol free affect fuel injected bikes, if at all?

My Aprilia 550 runs great on it. We have had a bunch of QT stations that have popped up around my area and they have 90 octane that is ethanol free. I run that in near all my cars and motorcycles. |

I run ethanol free when I can - Buccees down the road has 92 octane ethanol free. I kept my bikes and cars filled with it (+stabil) when I parked them for 18 month. Had no issues after coming back and fired them up. Ethanol free gives me slightly better gas milage, but on a vehicle that is used all the time it does not matter if you use E10 or ethanol free.

This is great information!
I'm planning on running ethanol free on my older carburetor bikes. Right now, there are no stations in my area that carries ethanol free, let alone anything over a 90 octane fuel. I can't wait to start seeing 93 pumps! |

If you can’t get ethanol free and looking for a stable fuel, look for a local small airport and take your jugs to get some 100LL avgas. It’s a bit more expensive was 5$/gal prior to all the Covid stuff. Last long time left alone. Longer than ethanol free gas. You can also dilute it and may want to if going to be running hard as it will be leaner so need to adjust for that or can go 50/50 or less. I’ve also found some Walmart’s have ethanol free so don’t overlook those too.

No additives on vehicles I normally drive.
I usually buy 4-5 six gal cans of gas at a time for the utility vehicle and zero-turn. I always add Stabil to cans when filling. On diesel for use in tractor - always a a stabilizer and biocide. Been know to add Marvel Mystery Oil to gas on engines that have set for a while to help lubricate / free-up valves |

I've been guilty of picking up the same habits, but I never questioned if it actually was worth the additional money. I wonder if you can overuse the product, where it does more harm, than good... |
