Bike Recall to Mancuso Southwest

I feel the need to call out Mancuso Southwest. I bought a 2019 Kawasaki Z900RS Café from them back in January. Now keep in mind the sales guy I dealt with was awesome. I got a recall notice for the ABS Pump just after Valentines Day so I dropped the bike off on February 23rd. After I dropped the bike off I received no updates about the status of the repairs & I had to call to find out the status of the reapairs. The recall stated that my ABS pump needed to be "replaced" Mancuso deemed it necessary to "inspect" the system when the recall clearly stated to replace the system. That took 1 week to order the ABS pump so the ECU had to be replaced. Then another week to install it then to find out the ECU would not communicate with the ABS pump which took a total of 3 weeks which was not necessary. I never got one phone call to say give me an update or anything to that nature from Mancuso Southwest. Finally, when I received the bike on March 16th (3 weeks later) on the way home I noticed my gas tank was over half empty {maybe my fault not so observant}. I didn't realize it until I was almost home. They could have filled the tank back to full which is how I brought it to them. No more business from me that's for sure and if anyone want's to say " oh give them a chance" you and you don't know what I had to deal with (or maybe you did). If this bike fails I will leave it on their doorstep. End rant.

Mancuso treated me pretty badly even though I had purchased 2 bikes from them within 3 years. I left a bad review on their Facebook page and one of the managers called and thretened to cancel a trade in that had just happened if I didn’t take it down. The guy who sold me my bike was great but I’ll never buy anything from them again. I don’t even think he could have canceled it but his implication on the matter was unmistakable in what he was threatening to do.

Wow. That's crazy. After I bought the bike & then dropped it off for the recall I had friends tell me that the service dept. could be "difficult to deal with" I wish I would have known that before hand then I might have contemplated getting my bike elsewhere but it's a done deal. Next time you can bet I'll go to Wild West or Honda of Houston, Maybe even Houston Motorsports.

After a year long from their north location for a blown motor I would of been super happy to get my bike back in only a month. They ended up billing the extended warranty company 10K for a used engine I found on ebay that was under 3k shipped. It took months to get that far and the that was "running" that department was only wanting to rebuild my motor with an out of pocket expense of like 3k for myself and warranty company for 10k. Also wanting to take the insurance money and put that towards selling me a new bike which goes against the policy of the warranty company. I'll drive a long way to buy my next bike so I don't ever give them another penny.

that's horrible. I couldn't imagine what you had to go through. I would have lost my and probably gone to the dealer and made a scene on a daily basis. That sucks. Yeah My business & money will go elsewhere.

Customer service doesn't mean anymore, its all about the bottom dollar and warranty work doesn't bring in any money

As a former service writer in the bike business, and although I had my issues with it from an administrative point, I always took care of my customers and always had the best CXI reviews. Most service writers suck and I'm sorry you have to go through this... it really isn't that hard of a job if you just pick up the phone and call your customers even if you don't have any news at all.

I guess it doesn't help that most dealerships don't pay , and their pay plans suck.

Mancuso had my hypermotard for about 2 months to replace a gear behind the clutch. I would’ve just done it myself if I knew it would take them 2 months and 1300 bucks later

Yes I received it in the mail. Had my VIN on it as well. I don't think all Cafe's were affected from what I have heard. With that being said it wouldn't hurt to at least check your Café to make sure.

Yeah was reading online that the front or rear tire can lock up at anytime for any reason without warning. Scary thought to thing about if your just cruising along.

I'll have to check my Vin out but 26XX and going strong!

Just curious have you made any modifications to your z900rs cafe so far?

Definitely a name I remember from the situation. I don't think he was the guy in charge of the "service" department. I believe he was the manager that finally told the guy to put in the engine I found. They wanted me to pay more to rebuild the engine than I paid for the bike. lol

Yes I have.

Carbon Fiber tire hugger along with carbon fiber heel plates & accents.
Full Akro exhaust with PC V
Heated grips
radiator guard
Axel sliders
Frame guards
Pazzo levers (The stock ones are hideous & clunky)
Tinted windscreen
Headlight lens protector

Here are some pics & my friend JJ McQuade sitting on it. Sorry the pics are sideways. I tried to fix it but it didn't work.
